  1. Slowwwwww down. You can unscrew the Ibolt on the end of the rod, but it is not meant to be adjustable. It is so it can be swapped for use in other modles ie... Caddys and Rivs. It is not really for adjusting.
  2. Yes for 88-90, 91 is electronic controlled. Keep in mind the rebuild kit is still the same so ware out parts are not any better than ours (unless the rebuild kits are udated/upgraded).
  3. I will tell yo in another 150K, but I would imagine not. As the rebuild kits (as far as I have found) are the same. This is assuming that the kits are not updated to match the hevier tranny.
  4. Good info to have. I will have to look into it a bit more. Although I still could not have beet my $65 tranny find, with absolutley no signs of ware. (recent rebuild from Goodwrench)
  5. I am using it in my car and had to add a second computer to control it, a 91' passenger side axle, and modify the passenger side tranny mount. It is out of a 1996 Park Ave Ultra. There was not 4t60-HD, only a 4T60E-HD started in 96, and ended when the 4T65E took its place. Also the 96' 4T60E is a direct bolt on for the 91' Reatta. Here is a link to ID the trannys. Once again the HD started in 96' http://dtcc.cz28.com/transmission/index.htm
  6. I know it does not help with finding the numbers. I would look for the HD veriation. Stronger and a bolt in for the 91s. I forget wht the axle ratio is, but I am almost certain it is diffrent from the 91' Reatta. Also rebuild places I have spoken with do not show any diffs in the HD or norm, as far as rebuilds are cocerned.
  7. Ran four ohm for a while with no issues
  8. You may also want to check the B&I in Tacoma. They have a good selection in the fabric store in there.
  9. The ground is on one of the bolts under the ICM (on its mounting bracket). There are like four wires there. I am pretty sure one of them is the ground.
  10. I would bet you have a failing speaker coil. As it warms up it the coil looses what little bit of insulation it still has and then shorts. After a while it will play again until it heats up. You may be able to catch it with a multimeter, but I would try to hook up a external source and see if it will make the speaker fail.
  11. If you put a straight pipe on your gas milage will go down the tubes. The car needs a bit of backpressure to run properly. I lost almost 5mpg when I used the straigh pipe. I am guessing it is because the O2 does not have time to get an accurat reading, so the ECM throws down more fuel.
  12. I use a pre-formed one from autozone, and I run a SC engine with no issues. It cost like 100 bucks plus install.
  13. Check rear pads, then tighten the adjuster. If the cables are not stuck this should fix your probelm
  14. It is a sealled unit (hub as.) Not too hard to replace on your own either.
  15. Mothers plastic polish is my choice
  16. Registar at reatta.net for the FSM
  17. Most likely it is broke, bur I would clean the contacts and check for tight connections. Also check to see if your have 120V for power, to insure that your power supply is working
  18. I have looked at this car and would have paid 3k with no issues. I want to buy it but cannot come up with the cash at the moment. She does have all records and has taken car of it. So here it is. http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/1152054772.html
  19. That is a very good swap, but not 4 me. I like my touch screen, but for those of you with a 90/91 it is a great swap.
  20. The series one is deffinately an easier swap, but if you are tring to stuff as much power as posible into your car the series II would be better. If you just want the car to be fun to drive the series I is a great choice. Here is a write up on what it takes to do and a great bit of advice twards the bottom, to overcome some of the issues I ran into. http://forums.aaca.org/ubbthreads.php/topics/586202/Re_The_series_one_swap#Post586202
  21. Handcrafted should give any one a hint. GM is not "handcrafted". So if they put a modlle in prodution and took the time to assemble by hand, it had to be special.
  22. The 3 is if you have PS sensor down on the rack. and not on the pump. I believe we have both. If yoiu are switching out the rack on your own I would suggest a long extention (2-3').
