A great idea. For a 10 y.o., she did a fantastic job with her article! Using a youth is also a geat way to get the young involved with old cars. Like it!

The WI Region of the AACA is the sponsor. The show is in Germantown, WI. Here is a link to the show flyer - http://local.aaca.org/wisconsin/Event's.htm

The trick I learned re: this problem is to manually fill the fuel bowl thru the fuel bowl vent(s). To do so I use a clear plastic ketchup squeeze bottle. Hey, not elegant, but it works as the car fires right up!

Put another 15 amp fuse in, and see what transpires. Having said that, I would think 15 amps is a lot for a turn signal circuit. 10 amps seems more appropriate, but what do I know?

2 Suggestions:
1 - Do a google search of the tube #
2 - There is a guy on ebay that sells a lot of radio tubes. Might try to find and contact him? Sorry no details on that. I just recall seeing his listings.

Dad popped in the garage twice, once when I started and again about 4 hours later -- barely walking, with his cane, and he tells me "Don't over do it, you're not young anymore ya know". HA!

It can only be fuel or ignition. Was the distributor bumped/moved/installed improperly? Could there be spark plug wires not on the right plugs?
From what you state, it does sound as though it is getting fuel, so I would concentrate on ignition.
Many, many years ago after I rebuilt a 265 c.i. Chevy engine it would not start for me, no matter what I did. I took it to someone more knowledgeable than me to diagnose. He popped the hood, took a quick look, switched 2 plug wires and she fired right up!

Clogged fuel injectors, bad coil(s)?

More than surprised that absolutely no one has jumped in here with a response? No need to now. I found my answer -

Try getting some help from your fellow Buick owners on the Buick forum of this web site.

It seemed to me that when I was buying seat belts for my '62, supplier had a whole assortment of fasteners (bolts, eyebolts, etc.). I can't imagine they would be that hard to find.

I see the AACA is having some sort of show event in WI on 16 Sep. My question is, does one have to be an AACA member to show their car at the event?

To me the shape/design look like those on the '54-'58 Cadillac.

Thank you for that clarification. Now I understand.

I guess I am still a little unclear here? If the heat riser is removed, will there not be a rather large-sized gap between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe that needs to be closed? Would not seem to be enough free play in the exhaust pipe to seal that gap?

No, but you will definitely need something to fill up that space when all is put back together again.

Never heard of Craveroiler, but then I wan not born until after WWII! Am familiar with after-market top oilers, and suspect this device may be similar? The function of a top oiler was to get lubrication to the lifters and pushrods in the valvetrain.

Morten,
If you mean this outfit - Automobile Inspections | #1 Car Inspection & Appraisal Company - the answer is yes. I used them a few years back and was very satisfied.
I am in WI, and the car in question (a 1956 Cadillac Coupe de Ville) was in WA. I was able to specify in advance specific things I wanted to be sure were inspected. I received a comprehensive multi-page report, accompanied by over 150 photos!
The report convinced me NOT to make the purchase. It was money more than well spent! I highly recommend the outfit.

If you use any, use the blue bottle. Have to say, it is not going to stop/slow your tranny leak.

I did own it, but no longer do so, dammit!

The bidders each pay a $100 registration fee plus admission each day -
Not saying this is incorrect, but it seems mighty strange to me that the bidder registration fee does not include the cost of daily admission. That seems a bit "nickel & dime-ish" to me?
