  1. I'm not exactly for sure, check with your Fisher body manual. It should show, but IIRC they have two tabs that you pry out of the bezel. Also there isnt' any bulbs under the lens, they are electroluminescent (sp).
  2. Vintage parts out of a Buick Dealership.
  3. Hello _______, To me Opera lights are the rear sear reading lights, you know like the ones in the Operas on the walls. Some call the outside electroluminescent lights opera lights. I believe those are coach lights. Which lights are you calling opera lights?
  4. Tim & Bell thanks for the info. BTW the odometer on these are still analog dials.
  5. has anyone ever swaped out the analog dashes to the digital ones? Is it just an even swap other than the mileage on the odometer? thanks
  6. ROA member Robert Diener from Morgantown, West Virginia called me this evening. He is having trouble with the climate control in Mrs. Diener's 84 Riviera. The only mode that will work is defrost. When he tries to push any other buttons the only thing that happens is the light flashes for that button. If anyone has experienced this problem or knows what might be wrong Mr. Diener would appreciate someone calling him. He also is looking to buy another climate control unit for the dash if anyone has one they would like to sell. He does not have a computer and asked me if I would spread the word for him. His phone number is 304-599-4027 Any and all assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

  8. Anyone need one? You can buy a new aluminum trim ring from Kirbans and have it painted to match. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1984-85-8...sspagenameZWDVW
  9. Peter any thoughts on this after you logged into my account to verify everything was setup correctly?
  10. Peter is there anyway you can watch what's going on with this particular thread on Ed, Tim and myself? For all three of us this option is not working. However this option did work for me before the board was down a few months ago for and upgrade or something. Thanks.
  11. Hey Lewis, that's great, while I don't have a convertible Riv yet, I do have two T-type Rivieras. I'd love to include your Riviera in my registry. Email me your information at JHP at airmail dot net Thanks
  12. Found this and thought some of you might be interested.
  13. Peter, I have checked all 3 points you made. Everything is correct. I have a lot of watched Topics if I go back and look at them under "my stuff" Also when I look at the topic view the thread is showing a magnifying glass which means I'm watching it. I check my SPAM folder everytime I check email and have not seen anything. My email address is also valid. ??? Incidently I noticed this quit working after the last update when the forum was down for a while.
  14. Is anyone having any luck with this forum emailing you when a reply is made to a post you've added to your watch topics? Mine is not working.
  15. What did you find out on the lights?
  16. Hum couldn't say right now without reading the service manual. The 82 Buick service manual would be a great help. I think there was one on ebay not too long ago, if your interested in it.
  17. Hello ______ Do you have an 82 service manual with the wiring diagram to check the lights at various points with a meter?
  18. Jennifer what is wrong with your '90 Riv ?

    Riv History

Back some time I ago I did something simular to this with one of my cars except I started current and worked backwards. That is the only way I believe you will ever be able to trace the chain of title. I had a car that was last registered in Oklahoma. I contacted the Oklahoma DMV and requested a title history. I think it cost about $20.00 In about two weeks I had a packet full of stuff, even a divorce decree, anything the state had on microfish for the car. The oldest thing they had was the title from the owners who brought it in from another state which lead me to do the same with that state. Finally I got all the way back to the GM origin for title, or whatever they call it.
  20. Nick is still trying to sell his car. He's come down on the price quite a bit. Sure would be a great car and It's been well taken care of. http://dallas.craigslist.org/car/522448882.html
  21. Nice car, seen it a couple of times. http://dallas.craigslist.org/car/502478219.html Just passing along the info
  22. Good luck. This is a troubled spot on all of my Riv's. The ones that have the piece intact were glued in the past with some sort of adhesive that when it dries looks like an orange foam. Whatever that is it will work, but it always tends to expand when it dries and goes everywhere. It also has a tendancy to "sort of eat" the dash pad. After these were sucessfully glued then due to heat, the insert trim piece would shrink some and in most cases would destroy the corners of the dash pad. I have been looking on and off for some sort of aftermarket trim that would go in there and not be such a pain. As I said I've not diligently looked for it.
  23. Great.. keep me in mind, I'm handy with the 307 Riv's and am a visual person to take pictures to illustrate.
  24. Hum, I might can take a picture of mine together Friday or this weekend during the daytime if you'll hollar at me later on so I don't forget. JHP@airmail.net
