  1. To all Buick Riviera Convertible afficionados’ I am doing research for the creation of a Web Site and Registry for the 1982-1985 Buick Riviera Convertible. It will include the history, facts, details of conception and design as well as a Registry for these exclusive automobiles. I own a 1985 Buick Riviera Turbo Convertible and a Buick GNX, both of which, Buick Motor Division, in conjunction with ASC produced. I am looking for any contacts within ASC or persons who may have worked at ASC or Buick during this time frame. Also, any history, conceptual drawings, photographs, assembly line work photos, product brochures, print ads, and most anything related to this model from the ASC Company. I have acquired the domain address of; www.rivieraconvertible.com for this new web site and registry and will model it after my other web site and registry for the 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado Bicentennial Convertible; www.bicentennialeldorado.com When convenient, please review the above site for a comparison of what I am creating for the 1982-1985 Riviera Convertible's. I hope to hear from you in the near future on this subject Web Site and Registry. All submissions of usable information and or contacts will be credited within the web site. Thank you for your time on this matter. Sincerely; Lewis H. Schwartz 2060 Fisher Trail NE Atlanta, GA 30345 404-634-2630 LHS36@aol.com ROA#9789 CLC#21703
  2. A Bicentennial Eldorado Convertible, hidden away since 1981 is to be auctioned in August. 33 miles. Read about it and other new items at www.bicentennialeldorado.com If you get the old Home page go to the top left bar and hit Home, it will give you the new info, AOL is extremely slow in updates at times

  4. 1976 is the last year GM built an in house Convertible. No one wanted or would buy convertibles, we had A/C, so we did not need to drop the top. Yea right. The Brass at GM found out later with Chrysler, there was a demand. 1982 was the first reintroducted Drop Top from GM, the Riviera Convertible. Cadillac had to wait until 1984 with a new Eldorado Convertible. But, both of these makes were farmed out to ASC to be chopped. They were not built on the assembly line as Convertibles had been in the past. So, 1976 was the last year of the Factory Asssembly Line built Convertible. Buick Riviera, 1982 thru 1985 and Cadillac Eldorado 1984 thru 1985. Both of these ended with the new body styles of 1986. www.bicentennialeldorado.com
  5. It is here, the 30th Anniversary of the End of the Eldorado Convertible. Today, April 21, 2006 marks the day the Last of a Breed rolled off the line at the Clark Street Cadillac Assembly Plant in Detroit. As you all know the last 200 were all identical and dubbed Bicentennial Editions. To date we have located and registered 25. I have located 7 more but still do not have complete info on these. We have added a new item, a build sheet from Body Number 13995, or the 195th one built. Interesting tidbit on this build sheet is the production date in the top left corner, 04 / 12. There seems to be a big gap in the production dates. This being the 5th from the last car built. Did GM hold up the Last One for its Impromptu day in the sun? We may never know, but April 21, 1976 is the official day of ?The End Of An Era? for this ?Last of a Breed?. Check us out at, www.bicentennialeldorado.com Thanks Lewis Schwartz CLC #21703
  6. There is a new site, www.BICENTENNIALELDORADO.COM that I wanted to let everyone know about. This site is dedicated to the Registry and Information about the last 200 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado Convertibles produced. Please review the site and let me know what you think. Please contact me, if you know of the location or owner of one of these cars. New pictures on the Gallery Page. Check out the Assembly Line and Video Page. Moving Video of 1976 Cadillac Eldorado's being built. Still looking for the remaining Bicentennial's, if there is only 10% of the 200 remaining then these are truly VERY RARE! Help with the hunt, going to Hershey, tell people about the site. Let your club members know about the site even if it is not a Cadillac Club, they may know of one. Please keep an eye on the site and I will keep everyone updated as we progress, new stuff still to be added. Thanks Lewis@bicentennialeldorado.com LHS36@AOL.COM
