I have read that sometimes the engine number was used too but my 37 used the serial number on the tag.

The Caddy will most likely be built as a retired ambulance that was turned into a handymans work truck since I have ladders and tools and will hook a late 60s MPC utility trailer to it.

If I had the room I would try to grab the Chrysler and Desoto, the Chrysler has a 265 six and would like to have the grille out of the Desoto and it looked like it would have a six too. The hoods are not open so the engines might be savable.

I only ride on bike paths now,too many not paying attention to ride on heavily traveled streets. Its just as bad on a motorcycle.

Years ago I ran into someone looking for NOS belts for his 1950 Ford so that got me wondering if there was any interest in original fan belts, will just keep them for emergency use or to find a correct size.

After installing the correct crank pulley on my strangely optioned 65 Mercury I had to go through my stash of belts to find the belts that came with the car, while going through all the belts I noticed some original Ford belts so would there be any interest in them. I would never use them on a car that is driven alot but might be good for a car that is trailered.

I would like to go there some day.

I mainly got it for the drivetrain,I was wanting to put a Y block back in my 55 sunliner but if the 390 is good it might get dressed up like a 1960 360 hp 352 and go in the sunliner.

I would like to find a good 2 door that needs a engine, the previous owner died and the wife wanted it gone and I have looked at a few that the owners did not even notice the frame having issues.
-
I had that pulley 20 years ago,I bought. 65 Country Squire that had a very sludged up engine so I picked up a 67 parts car and dropped that complete engine in and most likely sold the pulleys and brackets.

4 door has a good frame and the quarters have been repaired, the 4 door needs quarters and the trunk floor and someone walked on the roof. If the floors and trunk floor on the 2 door are savable I might fix it but the drivetrain is worth what I payed for it,I got it for 500 dollars.

I bought this truck in October while the getting was good and hoped to work on it over the winter but just was not nice enough to do it outside. Next is to install the front sway bar as its a little more involved then the rear and get a stereo kit since someone rigged it in.

Everything except body work but since I can not afford to pay to get it done I will do it.

modern tools - Dose anybody else think it's not quite to use a gear wrench when working on a vintage vehicle?

I do not have period tools for each older vehicle I own but most of my tools are over 25 years old so that should be good enough.
