The holes were not shown in the picture but since I drove 70 miles to look at it I was not coming home empty handed,I did cut the snorkel off my original rusty air cleaner to make a dual snorkel when I found a good one but not going to fill those holes to do it.

Trying to find paint to match the 40 in the back ground, its the 60s version I originally bought to use for parts that had a flat bed. The bed is from the yellow one,

Taking some scrap parts and building something, the 40 big trucks had different front sheet metal but this one is going to be a framers home made truck. Found a 2 speed rear end in my parts stash and big truck frame parts, ordered some dually rims and tires so let's see what I can build. Not sure of the bed right now.

Years ago I bought a 67 wagon that someone drilled holes in the lid.

Could not believe AutoZone had a filter for it.

Been using a 69 air cleaner since I got it on the road but found this one on Marketplace today, doubt those extra holes came from the factory but might help the 390 breath a little better. It came with a pair of late 60s valve covers and those.and the 69 air cleaner will go on my 65 Galaxie to mimic a 69 ,390 I had on my first car,the Galaxie has cheap chrome versions on it.

Looks like the sedan delivery is going to have Chevy power!
No Y block power, found someone making the truck Y block rams horn manifolds on a model forum,in the past I would just use SBC rams horns.

Oh im aware of old men being wary of selling, and often wanting too much for a rough shell. The owner of my '57 wanted 5k for it, and his son talked him down to 1k.
I wish i knew a classics junkyard for fords, i need several parts for a '57 that arent usually for sale on the internet. The only classics junkyard near me is astro salvage by newark ohio.
Off topic my carb isnt even for a y block, a holley 2300 its for a mercury 383 two barrel, meaning its making close to double the cfm of the original 225cfm 2300... lucky find i guess, gonna have to give it a little advance i guess?
Where are you located,my local old junkyard has a few 57s and a 58. I grab anything I think I can possibly use out of that junkyard before they decide it's time to close it,just grabbed a dash out of a 65 Mercury since it had a nice dash pad and gauges just in case I would need them for mine.

If I had a obscure brand I would try to find parts cars and every part that I hear about,if I see something in a junkyard that could possibly be used I grab it and I have mainly 50s and 60s vehicles.

I had a 72 AMX in the early 80s and used a 68 and 70 Javelins for the engines.

I had a 50 Windsor 8 pass sedan for many years and would like to have another some day.

It's getting a whole floor and rocker panels along with a complete trunk floor and of course both quarters and used doors, only original parts are the roof and firewall and those leaky T tops caused all that damage. It also needed another front subframe and did not have the original engine.

What tops does it have? Are they getting rid of them? If they are CnC I may be interested. I am a sucker for all old iron and take on more than I should, but its hard to believe with what has come to be of the trans am market that a 77 is not worth saving?
It's being fixed and not much will be left of the original car.

Probably will never sell any of my parts on the internet and just sell locally for cash like the way I bought the parts, might have to write down what each part costs if it gets too crazy.
-
Where I work has a 77 T/A in to be restored with T tops, this car was not worth saving and wondering if parts are available since it will need seals.

I have found modern chargers have a hard time charging dead batteries, the body shop I worked at had all modern chargers so I had to bring iny old school charger to charge up a couple dead ones.

After I last posted I remembered that I bought a battery powered weed eater that only came with one battery, the price of the battery is almost the same price as another tool that has a battery.
-
The battery powered tools give one more freedom to work but one has to think about battery life and replacement costs,if the tool manufactures would use the same batteries for many years it would not be a problem but I have found the higher end tool manufactures (Snap on etc) have a tendency to change forcing people to have to buy a new tool and the battery costs almost make it cheaper to buy a new tool.

Looking good, please show us more of how well it came up. How does it drive with the manual shift?
Trans needs to come out for synchronizers and solenoid, just need to find a long enough drive shaft to cut down so I can put a regular 3 speed until the overdrive gets repaired. The breezeway sedan has a 3 inch longer wheelbase or I would have a driveshaft since the local old junkyard has a 65 Galaxie with a 3 speed.

Big M looks like it means business!😎 As most big cars with dual exhaust do...😈
My own preference is that the pipes are barely visible under the bumper. Stealth mode!
Had to come out due to holes in the quarter panels and did not want the fumes sucked back up in the car, since no patch panels are made I will start looking out west for panels.

I would have been around 3 to 4 years old when this kit was made,I presume it's 64 or 65.

Picked it up to use for parts in a all 60s build I have coming up but I think it's worth saving, bought a 80s version for the chassis but looking around I have the parts to put it back togather so the 80s version will eventually be built. Not too crazy about all the decals but will leave it as it was built.
