3. Bill, Chip and salsa bar, actually. The Caddy is next. [/image] Mike
4. Thriller, Isn't that what they used to call a fight in Hockey? Mike I think we should all be prepared for some razzing here. So call 'em as you see 'em. example: "Check the time stamp on your post Buick5563, why are you on the Forum so early, either go back to bed or go to work"

6. I just got back from picking up a 1960 Cadillac for a work project. I drove just under 600 miles with a Chevy 1500 pickup and a car hauler. Before y'all jump on me for driving an underpowered rig... A.) It's a company truck. B.) I'm pretty sure no matter what Ford claims about it's product, my Mazda B4000 will NOT pull 7500 lbs. I know several of you guys go on trips with half ton pickups, my hat is hereby off to you gentlemen. During any kind of driving in traffic or near bridge guardrails, my knuckles were whiter than when my steering box needed rebuilt on my 55 and I was driving that on bias ply tires. The truck wasn't actually necessarily underpowered as much as severely "under suspensioned." BTW, my wife is currently jokingly refering to this as the Buick Fourum, since she always just hears about me talking about And I quote " Bill Stoneberg, Willie, Willis, and some guy named Lamar." See ya, gotta sleep, Mike
7. Preferably a full face mask. And at least a dust mask. But like they said, it is relatively easy and very rewarding. Mike
8. Jiffy Lube sure ain't gonna be happy. Mike

10. (warning... modified alert!) Adam, I got mine on ebay about 6 years ago. I bought it thinking I was just going to drive it, ya know, a convertible. It had been a high school shop class project and so the body work was pretty much just inches of bondo over rust, and a badly smashed quarter panel. The interior was blue pleather that smelled like cat urine. There was no carpet and no top, OK, it was there but just barely and the mechanism didn't even raise manually because there were actually main pieces missing from the top frame. I decided (since I had a stock 1955 to enjoy) that I would make slight modifications to my car. I didn't do anything undo-able and I tried to do it close to what Buick did. The paint is a Mitsubishi red pearl. The upholstery is similar to the pattern but I chose boat vinyl and silver sparkle inserts. Then just recently, I installed a 1966 intake manifold with a Quadrajet carburetor, thus, the giant air cleaner you see. This of course led to installing aluminum valve covers. So basically, other car guys don't necessarily know that it is modified, since there aren't aftermarket wheels and an Edelbrock carb on it.
11. Looking good, Adam. That's almost the color of mine when I first brought mine home. Although your's looks like it is in much better shape than mine was. Mine is a 401 with a Dynaflow transmission. Mike [/image]

13. Macs are just drag and drop. Neat website. Mike

15. Hey Chris, Another thing to do is when you take it into a shop, you may want to take in the voltage regulator as well. I had one shop say they needed it to check the actual charging voltage rate. Mike

Willie

And it's not returnable after that. I bought a bunch of Impala convertible parts for my Cat and it was the same way. Mike
18. I still prefer cheating. Mike Oh, and TG. It says 47 on Norbs title. That would be 6 years.
19. Actually, Pete's pic does too. You might want to check the names of your files before posting. I'm actually terrible at this game so the only way I can play is with a cheat sheet anyway. Mike
20. He's six years off, not because I know but you and Bill have the year on the upper part of the attachment photo. I do think this would be a cool feature for the Bugle, Pete. Mike
21. Rebecca, I used the Bill Hirsch manifold paint on my 55 and it has remained mostly grey. Get as much of the rust and other undesirable imperfections out before you paint. I have seen a product at Griot's (very expensive) Garage that you supposedly rub into the manifold like shoe polish. It looks interesting to me, but I haven't tried it. Mike
22. My day today was spent moving crushed granite around in my front yard, Ya know, real relaxin'. The Impala part was just the frustration of continuing to have to WORK at a restoration rather than being "credit card guy" and paying for a new harness with all of the proper ends and such. Last night I went to the book store to get an electrical wiring problem book and today I bought some more diagnosis tools to try some other options. I'll try one more day and then probably take it to a "pro" who can rig it faster. I realize I won't be happy, but at least he can fix it and I will unrig it. Thanks for all of your help. Mike
23. OK. I was in the garage for at least five hours today. I took the turn signal switch apart and cleaned it. Changed the light bulbs in back. Took the harness at the firewall apart, cleaned it. Still no lights. Now I have no dash lights, and the vent blower isn't working. (They might not have been working when I started this project, I just noticed it today.) There is no voltage at the fuse panel for the dashboard lights. Fuse is fine. Front of car still has all lights working. Radio works. Rear turn signal works. All other interior lights work with door switches and light switch. Conv. top works. Battery is strong. I will try reading my shop manual even more tonight. I'm afraid I've exhausted my knowledge of electrical testing. Time to buy an Impala. Mike
24. Hey Jesse, What kinda car is it? Maybe we could start from there. Mike
