  1. This part here... found at the bottom of the steering column. Used/NOS/or new, doesn't matter as long as it works. Thanks.
  2. This is the part I need... it's found at the bottom of the steering column. Any ideas where I might be able to find one?
  3. Can you tell me how you got to the cable behind the wheel?
  4. I believe the fault is behind the housing, as earlier in the day I had left-turn signals, then after I attempted to fix that I had none. I will check the bottom of the steering column too, but I think that the fault is towards the top of the column, even if nothing more than a mechanism that has become dislodged. Can anyone hint at what might be preventing me from removing the housing from the spindle though?
  5. Update: After trying to get to the problem in the steering column (behind the steering mount) I now have no signals at all. I believe the problem to be the switch mechanism behind the housing, however for some unknown reason I can't get the switch mechanism off the spindle - it travels about a 1/4 inch or so but that's it. It feels like there is something holding it on, yet i've removed all screws and checked that plate inside is free to clear too (the one that fits into the slots and secures the switch mechanism tight). Help!
  6. My passenger-side turn signal is not working. I've replaced the solenoid. I know that on modern cars you can tell when a bulb is gone because the flasher interval is more rapid, yet this doesn't seem to be the case with the Riviera. So i'm thinking it's the contact in the steering column, but I wanted to ask you guys if you've had this problem or might know how to help me. Thanks in advance.
  7. For both sides, including wheel arches. Please email me if you can help.
  8. Do you have contact details for him?
  9. After reading the other post on aftermarket rims, I too have a question. My current ride ('64 Riviera) had Astro Supremes (15"x7") on it. These wheels have a 3 1/2" backspace. I'm looking to change up the wheels to some American Racing Hopsters, 15x8 on the front and 15x10 on the rear to really fill out the wheel well. Would I need to keep the current backspace measurement or would it be different for each size wheel - if so how can it be worked out?
  10. My buddy has had 2 Nailhead blocks crack on him on a couple of 63/64 Rivieras. Is this a known problem with these engines?
  11. I just got off the phone with the guys at Old Buick Parts and they said a carb rebuild would take 8-12 WEEKS! This can't be right... I mean 4-5 days sitting in an acid bath sure, so maybe 7-10 days max for a rebuild? Wouldn't that be closer?
  12. Just out of curiousity... are there any adapters which enable an Edelbrock/Holley carb to be fitted to the stock manifold?
  13. My '64 Riviera has 15"x8" Astro Supremes which look great. You could also try the Crager SS. My fitting is a 5 on 5, I think the offset was 3.5" but obviously it could be different for your model. Any good rim shop could help you get the right wheel and fitment.
  14. After spending the afternoon researching carb/manifold options on the web, I agree that a rebuild will probably be the better option. I'm thinking that I could also take the manifold in and have it ported/polished as you mentioned in a previous post.
