  1. Guys, you have to read the entire post(s) and understand the nature of the comments. "George" registers less than a week ago and comes on like the guru and all knowing. Perhaps He is, but to poke a little fun like Rolf saying : "...your glowing self appraisal may well be the gospel truth, but for the prices I have heard you charge for your work, I would really like to hear some testimonials from your customers, OK?? " Now hearing that prices were high, and they actually being high could very well be two different things, and that is what was being asked, please give us some references as to your quality, experience and customer good will, much like you gentlemen have done, not an example in Japan with no way to contact. Please, tis the holiday season and everyone needs to lighten up and keep up with their medication. As to Mikes' question "of what is the problem here?" read the following: I have over 50 years of "hands on" experience with these vehicles more then anyone else currently working on these cars. We offer many parts to rebuild Zephyrs. We are the most knowledgable people in the business and offer assistance in various languages Does that sound like someone that attempts to ease in and gain credibility among the forum or did you hear the bugle charge? Just lines that begged for someone to take shots and so shots were taken, no blood drawn, no fatalities. 8 posts, 2 selling, 1 buying, 5 advertising how good I am. and now you guys tell us He's good, that's good enough for me
  2. Four known Daves' in this short thread alone. I am thinking of changing my name to Herman or Sylvester. Lower the alert level to Defcon 2. It was in the mid 70's today. .. Started raining though so I am praying we don't have a silver thaw or black ice (I read a lot and therefore pick up terms from the frozen North)
  3. Boy Rolf, I guess you were told huh? Hey, is that Bridge Stone Tire Corporation in any way affiliated with Bridgestone Corporation, the company that manufactures tires and other "rubber" products under the Bridgestone and Firestone brands? Is it impolite to blow your own horn if no one else does?
  4. My best friend had one (black) from about 1969 thru 1974, what a horse. Went from the 260 to 289 to 289 Hi-Pro to the nines. Fast nice car. Yours looks very nice, a joy to have I'll bet.
  5. Stupid is as Stupid does I am in my '51 Ford pickup 327 chevy, auto and the rest (even 35 years ago had the same problem as today ?? )at night trying to start it, turned over great but no catch, then the strong smell of petrol as they say. Get out lift the hood, say to my companion (can't force myself to refer to him as friend) " must have a stuck float or loose hose and I swear he says, "too hard to see in the dark" as he lights his Zippo and goes in for a closer look. No, I'm still here but I think He' still looking for His lighter I threw it kinda far

  10. Yeah, shoulda bought stock in harbor freight when we were kids too I guess. Oh I forgot, there WAS no harbor freight when these events happened. On the farm something was always running out of gas, sometimes on purpose, like running the irrigation pump from the PTO of the tractor and the timer was how much gas we put in the tractor. Three miles away from the nearest anything ready to re-fuel the tractor and you find the hand gas pump doesn't pump. Take the hose off and get ready to spit (no smoking for at least an hour after swimming, or something like that)
  11. WE didn't figure all that out until we played with straws and spit wads, and keeping milk in the straw with our thumb over the end, and, oh wait that was before the siphoning thing, never mind.
  12. Yes Rolf I do agree the '47 is interesting but is on the wromg coast for me. A puuuurrrfect fit for you though. After you make the puchase be sure and post some pics. Dave

Bye for now, wish me luck, Dave 12/15/2003 3:10pm humidity 65% WIND CHILL 59 DEGREES

  19. Nice car, Is it normal in this time period to have differt upholstry and floor treatment in the front vs. the rear? It doesn't strike me as an absolute chaufeured vehicle but maybe that's why the difference? Just struck me as odd, but then most things strike me as odd I guees.

  23. If you start to tell the humorus story, then a damn name or face jumps into it that you didn't care to remember then you feel guilty that you didn't. An anticdote falls to a place that falls to a face that causes a tear to fall. Never said or even thought that out loud before. oh well. God Bless this United States of America, and God Bless the rest of the world too.
  24. Kevin that is a beautiful piece of restoration and documentation. A true piece of art. Congratulations.
