  1. Chuck, what a terrific specimen! I hope you are making some patterns off that top. Dave
  2. Also if I'm not mistaken, isn't the windshield leaning back, unlike the screenside which is straight up and down? Dave
  3. I'm curious how they got the later strap hinge doors to even mount on the earlier style hinge pocket in the cowl. Is that a 20-22 touring car cowl spliced to a screenside leanback? I tried at first to put 20-22 touring doors on my screenside and not only did the hinges not line up they are too wide to go in the hinge pocket. Also noticed that is not a sreenside dash, as it does not have enough cutout for the steering column. Dave
  4. That is a resistor. Not sure of the years. Dave
  5. It is an ignition coil Dave
  6. Well if that is the case that makes me feel better about it. Majority rules! Thanks Steve. Dave
  7. It went down in defeat because it needed 2/3 majority of the members to pass. It won in number of votes but didn't have a 2/3 majority. Vote next time people if you want something changed. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Dave
  8. Our 2 25 DB coupes and 25 Business Sedan all have original rear window shades. Dave
  9. No, they are not clinchers. Just standard tires. Clincher would be hard to describe but if you held your hands up and curled your fingers into a "C" with palms facing each other you would be making a crude cross section of the rim. The clincher tire has a bead that fits into that lip. Maybe I can find a pic somewhere and post it. Know anyone with an older Model T? Lots of them have clinchers but I don't recall any DB's having them unless maybe real early. Dave
  10. WOW! That's a lot of leaves! Touring should only have 6 or 7 leaves. Someone was really packin' a load!
  11. Go to any decent motorcycle shop. They sell fork oil used in front forks and rear shocks in many different weights. Dave
  12. Roger, are you sure on that area code? 503 is Portland/Salem Oregon area code. Dave
  13. Hey, that's cool cuz I am the one bidding on that radiator! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Nearcocoa, no real weather problems here or Bend. Had 5 DB members, 2 wives and one outsider at Dave Johnsons in Bend Monday! Fellow DBer John Stubbe bought a late 28 Vic 6 in Bend. Cold here but all is well. Dave
  14. I am at my business but in the Dodge Brothers News there is a vendor, I believe it is Brassworks? that sells new cores. Are you a DB club member? If not, join. It is the best 20 bucks you'll ever spend! Oh, and '17-early '22 radiator will fit. They appear on ebay from tme to time as well, used. Dave
  15. Here is the 22 screenside. Merry Christmas! Dave
  16. Personally I like red wheels with silver rims. I also have a 21 touring with varnished spokes, black hubs and maroon, body colored fellows. The rims are black, which I do not like. Here is a pic of the touring. The rear wheel I just put on and it has a silver rim, rather dirty one though. I paint my rims with a silver hammered finish (Hammerite is one brand), it looks alot like the galvanized finish and it hide a lot of pits and irregularities. I am going to pull these off and paint all the rims silver. I will also do another message and attach my 22 screenside with red wheels. Since the car is put together out of different years its not going to be a show winner so build it like you want and enjoy it. Who cares if it is not 100% correct, it will still work the same and will be tons of fun. Dave Wollam
  17. Should be negative ground until about 1923. Dave
  18. I agree with Roger, it is not Dodge. The posts are similar but with that style of post the windshield is flat bottomed, not curved. Also the pivots and wing nuts are incorrect for DB. Many times there are incorrect ones listed on ebay as Dodge. Dave
  19. Yes same bolt pattern but isn't there a locating pin sticking out that will prevent modern wheels from slipping on? We used to cut or break them off but would hate to do that now. Dave
  20. Try egge machine. They have tons of stuff. www.egge.com And if you must put a v-8 in it at least put a Mopar in it, there are millions of 318-360 out there, but original parts are not that hard to find. Tell us what you have and need. Dave
  21. You should see an "R" "C" and "F" for rear, center and front. I believe they are the same side to side. I may have some in a week or so from some parts I am buying. I can get back to you then if you want. Dave
  22. Thanks for the great reply twinpartners! DB's are titled by the frame number, although some DMV people don't know that. I have a couple DB engines with titles and my buddy took 2 Dodges I sold him down to the local DMV and they titled his by the engine numbers and incorrect years as well! Oh well, at least he has some numbers for the cops to look at. I will give them a call and see what they can do. Thanks again, Dave
  23. Twinpartners, I was thinking of using ITS's services. Have you personally used them? If so, how did it go? Our local DMV is a joke. One has to be really up on the laws and show them how it is or you won't get anywhere with them. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Dave
