there were 356 2-door sport coupes built in 1964 i dont know the total of 4-door and conv. all 4-speed cars were built in flint so the vin should show that. the serial # that matches the car vin should be on the top of the trans i had to pull mine to find it. i hope this helps matt(4-speed)has way more knowledge on these cars than anyone else.i hope this helps. scott 19+64 wildcat 425 2-4bbls 4-speed

i read a couple of years ago that ford and gm were going to build a transmission plant together.that way costs were cut in half for both companies. i think they were going to be building a 6 speed auto. but i have been known to be wrong. scott

thanks matt. the center caps are 64 correct,the yard stick test the center hubs are below the edge of the rims. now to get them rechromed anyone know of a shop? scott
