  2. accually in 70 there was one only design for the wildcat the only options were bench or bucket (very few bucket seats were made) in this post you can see mine i had them copy the design the best they could http://forums.aaca.org/f163/my-70-wildcat-278602.html scott
  3. none that i know of you will have to have it custom made scott

  6. i just bought a wrecked 87 t type so i am going to install the drive train into my 76 skylark scott
  7. i was running high 15's (15.73@86mph) then Tom(wildcat)Wagner and others hepled me out with my dist. and my best dropped 3 tenths my last run (also my fastest)was 15.42 on the brakes (and i still broke out on a 15.50 dial in) i lost to Adam Martin(smartin) before the mod on the dist my fastest ever was 15.12 in bowling green so now i know i will get into the 14's scott
  8. sadly when i installed the emblem for the wildcat nationals it shattered into many pieces the emblem survived but the housing is history scott

  10. I never said i couldn't afford $50.00 a year, I said the BCA aint worth $50.00 a year TO ME ......MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION.......that and a buck fifty will buy you a cup of coffee ............. so i guess according to you i need to sell my cars OK.... FOR SALE 1970 wildcat 1976 skylark someone step up and come and get them I am a (paid) member of the BPG and the GSCA they dont have a monthly magazine (there's are quarterly)but there meets have racing and right now that is what i am interested in..... this year i am going to both there nationals but not Ames why mainly because they are on the same weekend... I have been to a BCA national as a spectator and at the BPG and GSCA i do not show my car i go to see the other cars(that are showing) and to race and my car aint quick its a slow boat but its enjoyable scott
  11. that is not how i read his reply........ he just stated what it would take for him to be a board member........ I have said this before so i will say it again I joined a few years back when i joined i did not know of a local chapter I joined to support the brand and to get a BCA sticker for my car.. I never recieved my welcome packet (strike one) I never was contacted by any local chapter after my name address etc came out in the bugle i started recieving unsolicided mailings from companys and private indivduals trying to sell me stuff for my car... when this was brought up I was told to email the BCA with details as the BCA dont sell their members list...... well you dont need to sell whats free all my info was printed in the bugle I emailed the BCA with details of who was soliciting sales and I was never contacted back(strike two) So all I got (or got )out of the BCA was the bugle It is a nice magazine but i would read it in 1 hour and be done (accually my last 2 issues i never opened) when i joined it was 35.00 a year and they raised it to 40.00 that was (strike three) i was out at that time ....... the quote the "the BCA was a sinking ship" is incorrect in my own personal opinion .......... the BCA is still sinking just slower scott

  16. well i found the holy grail for the full size 70's but when it came in it looked like this but the missing pieces were still in the box and yes it does have two cracks in the housing so with a little super glue we get now a question is there a gasket that goes behind these emblems ????? as the emblem housing sets off the bumper about a 1/16th of an inch... scott
  17. NOS GM BUICK GRILLE EMBLEM: eBay Motors (item 190403881806 end time Jun-16-10 16:51:11 PDT) here was one for the regular full size cars(wildcat lasabre electra) i would have anounced this auction earlier but i was trying to win it I WON IT now back to the main topic i did a search of old posts here is some info on the emblem http://forums.aaca.org/f115/70-electra-225-limited-front-bumper-169884.html scott
  18. I found replacement front and rear bumpers on e-bay when they came in they had spots of rust starting on them but some steel wool and chrome polish did wonders the new one with my old one polished up the grill while i was at it scott
  19. I bought TA's 288-94H got it and new lifters and have them setting on the work bench with the intake, heads , and black poston valve covers....... was waiting to get a new timing cover, water pump and oil pump and then i picked up another 70 SF code engine so i thought why not just build a complete engine instead..... so now i need more money, more money, more money scott
  20. now the story I found this car about 1 mile from my house the guy that owned it was trying to fix it up etc... but money became a problem and he parked it in his back yard. a couple of years later metro code enforcement told him to fix it or get rid of it and since i had moved he didnt know how to find me. so he sold it the new owner placed an add on e-bay where i found it. i won the auction but the reserve was not met so i asked if i could come and see the car. I checked the going rate for these cxars and went to see him. the car was in sad shape as it had sat under a tree for i donrt know how many years and the front and back glass both leaked. I could see some rust under the vynal top and the paint was faded but the #'s matched and it only had 44,000 miles. I asked what he was expecting to get for the car and he quoted 6500.00 well i said i could not even come close to that number and started to leave and he asked me to make an offer...... i bought the car for 2500.00 and drove it home then the work started first the radatior was leaking so a new one was ordered needed a new fan shroud etc....cte... etc.... i parted out my 64 wildcat (because of a spun bearing in a new motor) and got enough to have the 70 painted I found someone to paint the car and it was MY understanding that the new top was included but i found out later i was mistaken a 6 week paint job turned into 6 months when i was told to come and get it as it was DONE all the side trim was still off the car and some emblems were lost or broken but the paint looked real nice(the body work was GREAT)the car was straight as an arrow i got the top done a couple of months later finally found the right clips to replace the side trim found most emblems etc...etc... running wise last year was the first time i ever went down the track and the car did a terrible 16.2 1/4 mile instralled a new converter and dropped the time to 15.3 installed the posi carrier and my new best of 15.1 (and i let off early) hoping for a 14.? this year. not bad for a 40 year old motor with 50,000 miles on her in the future i have a set of ported stage 1 heads ,a B4B intake and a new cam waiting it install but as with anything else money is a factor... scott
  21. part 2 top installed after about 18 month i finally found the clips for the side trim found a NOS wildcat script to replace my lost broken one old seats and carpet new seats and carpet done this week now i am ready as i am going to be for the wildcat homecommig in BG this may scott 1970 wildcat 1976 skylark BPG # 1990
  22. here is the saga of my car its been around 4 years in the making. on the way to the painter stripping down paint added home from the painter some used wheels continued scott
  23. i nothing bad happens i will be there i will race mine (bracket)and park it with all the others but not enter it in a judged show (as mine dont look good enough) scott
  24. I know $50.00 don't sound like much , but everyone has their limit to pay for something (anything)you have to think its worth it to justify the expense. I see some will pay any amount and talk of all the fun they have at the Nationals or Regionals.....I did go to the 100th in flint and i really enjoyed seeing all the different cars....but i was just a spectator at a car show..... i have not seen or heard of a Regional in my area (ever)..I did see an add for the music city chapter having a meet earlier this year so i emailed them to see where it was going to be so i could be a spectator but was told its a "driving club and they were not having a show just a meet" On the other hand i go to bowling green (gsca) every year i did join their group because i wanted to race my wildcat but now you dont have to be a member to race so i didn't renew that membership(their cost is 40.00 a year) I am a member of BPG and their "build sheet "(like the Bugle) only comes out 3-4 times a year but it covers items that i need(mainly the buick 455) on my car so i keep that membership. the bottom line is $1.25 a month(really 4.167 a month 50 divided by 12) is not a hardship but you have to think its worth the cost before you can justify the cost and i cant do that here......... just my 2 cents worth scott
