  7. no not the same car this one was in nashville tn i saw another one the same color and a 4-speed at the 2003 nationals but it did not have the dual quads this one is long gone it died so many more could live (completely partesd out) scott
  8. the 63 lasabre came with a 401 2 bbl nailhead also known as the 410 wildcat engine in 64 they dropped to the 300 2 or 4 bbl .....aka the 310 and the 355 wildcat engine just my 2 cents worth scott

  10. i finally broke down and got a set of the infamous 70 wildcat shorty headers fresh with a new coat of high temp paint had to raise the engine a little but as TA claimed a direct bolt on although a tight fit my new(used intake) used poston black valve covers I still need to prime the oil pump and button it all up for cam break in and then i will top it all off with the gm buick chrome breather more photos to follow scott
  11. installed the ported iron heads and cam........ found 4 holes on each head that had to fill..... got the exhaust and timing cover back (after a 2 week wait):mad: and applied a new coat of paint new stage 1 fuel pump installed new oil pump gears ands front seal then this came in...... more to come scott
  12. we its time to get ready for the GSCA nationals again...... i have been gathering parts for a couple of years wanting to upgrade the wildcat so here we go........................... started here with a dirty engine compartment went all the way down to a short block I only broke 1 bolt in the exhaust manifold and found 2 in timing cover already broken.......sent to machine shop for removal and media blasting new parts are 72 stage 1 ported heads TA 284-94H cam and lifters B4B intake more to come.................. scott

    very nice truck i would like to get a 69 short bed myself (had one when i was younger) and the good part is all parts are reproduced for them scott
  14. the front are 45 fin aluminum the rear are cast iron the rear should have a posi tag but if it dont just turn the tires if both go in the same direction your good ..... scott
  15. i have a 76 skylark and it dont have any rubber trim on the bumpers front or rear can you post a photo ?........it may be a one year item........... scott
  16. it would run close to the same just at higher rpm's you need horsepower to go quicker not gears at the bpg in hebron ohio i installed a short set of tires (25 inch tall) with my gears it changed the ratio to 3.08 area ran 15.9@84 went thru the traps in 3 gear installed 29 inch tires and went 15.9@86 went thru the traps in 2nd gear i drove to ohio with the short tires and was 2900 rpm's @70mph on the way back with the tall tires 2400 rpm's @ 70 mph now this is just my own opinion scott
  17. the smaller one is a 64 wildcat vin tag the other one does not denote the option code (2L) which is for the four speed and ted is right all four speed were built in flint the vin# should start 6K1 if it were a four speed scott

I took the wildcat to the GSCA nationals in KY last week my best 1/4 times before the meet were 15.09 @ 90.xx mph with the good air and cool temps i knew i would get into the 14's wed i made 5 runs all into a head wind 1st run 15.06 personal best but not a 14 2nd run 15.13 huh 3rd run 15.16 dang it (but it cut out on the 1-2 shft) 4th try same as the third try ( it cut out again) rechecked the dwell (oops i set it wrong)reset dwell and timing last run of the day R/T .032 60' 2.131 330 6.157 1/8 9.550 AND 1/4 14.993 @ 90.00 i was into the 14's thur made 4 runs 14.97 14.95 14.927 14.921 friday no wind 14.887 14.82 14.799 14.884 saturday race day we installed a 1 inch 4 hole carb spacer had a slight tail wind 14.80 (engine hot just drove in from nashville) 14.72 engine cool great weather 14.58@92.58(my best) 14.79(oops left it in 2nd and it shifted early) eleminations bracket 5(13.5 and up) dialed in a 14.57(figured i ran a 14.58) ran 14.67(win) changed dial in to 14.62 14.71(win) 14.67 (win) the wildcat won bracket 5 at the GS nationals scott
  20. only 5 made it there were 2 66gs's teds 65 conv 4 speed car tom wagners 69 wildcat (he was running 11.2 11.3 quarter times) and my 70 scott
