  1. With Orange Wheels you don't need white walls.
  2. Here are some more pictures I took and some the guy I got it from took, under different lighting to see the colors better. http://159.218.3.3/model%20A/
  3. Could be I'm totally new to Model A's and color blind, but my wife and daughter campared the colors and decide on the one I listed.
  4. The guy I owned the car from has been dead for 7 years so I didn't get much history. Going from a 1928 Color chart we think it is we think it is: Pembroke Gray with commercial drab accent and orange stripes and wheels. We are perty sure abut the commercial drab (TCP IM020)accent and orange (TCP IM035)stripes and wheels. The Pembroke Gray (TCM IM1160) is a little lighter than the chart but the chart is OLD But I do not know for sure, the car was painted in the late 60's early 70's
  5. I usually hit it lightly with 00000 steel wool. it dulls it and give it a little wear.
  6. I bundled up and went out driving today, the Model A fired right up in the single digits and ran well. I was surprised how well it took off on the snow covers streets and the field. Stopping not so good but the tires were narrow enough to work as rudders to steer even when lock up. I drove it out in the field behind my house a took some pictures I think they can out well.
  7. I have restored plates before I have a rubber brayer and by thinning the paint and putting a couple coats I can make the plate look new, restored but new, I may try to pass a restored one off. I don't know why they won't accept restored on the older plate the newer one are reflective and would be hard to restore but the old ones ae just painted.
  8. My county can barely afford sand much less salt. On my road they use the philosophy: "God put it there, God will take it away"
  9. I had it already and was going to go driving today until I woke up to white streets. They were black when I went to bed honest they were.
  10. You did worse than I did, I ended up with 240. I worked on my Model A all day yesterday so only played 16 cars the best, I did was 60 point on one car. The odd one a 70 Cuda I guessed 68K it sold for 115K and I got 10 points figure that one out?
  11. Did you here the CEO admit that 57% of the vehicles went home with new owners, he said it was about the same as Las Vegas last year. I thought a no reserve aution would have 100% go home with new owners?
  12. I have enjoyed your series of photos BUT There is no Caption for this shot!!
  13. Have you seen the Hagerty insurance commercial with two cougars, it's great.
  14. This the otherone I have. I my try redoing it the metal is real good on it. It is not cut off it's just the size of my scanner.
  15. I just realized that I have 2 body code 40A Fords. Odd I have a 1955 Ford Thunderbird 2 door convertible body code 40A and a 1928 Ford model A rumble seat roadster body code 40A. Interesting?
  16. To me it look like the old red oxide primer, reddish brown. that is what I was planning on using for a back ground if I try to redo one of them, then clear coating it.
  17. Wes Did you ever get a chance to look as see what you have?
  18. That picture was taken at Hershey , this is the picture of the one sold from the BJ site. I think it is the same one.
  19. Not sure it was the same one this one had more windows. and differnt siding. http://159.218.3.3/10-10-2008%20Hershey/SANY0553.JPG
  20. I noticed that motorhome that was at Hershey sold last night.
  21. Wes The one I posted is not mine it is from the Indians BMV web site, the ones I have are not in near a good a of shape, If I can not find on I will try to redo the ones I have and age them. This is the best one I have currently, the other one has better steel but missing most of the paint. I was planning it redoing it, and trying to match color and age to this one.
  22. When I took drivers ed we had to stop twice once, at the sign and once at the road
  23. I actually have bought 2 off EBay neither was acceptable to DMV. They do not allow and repaint or touch ups or extra holes so you have to find a perfect 80 year old plate. And with a plate that he original holes are on the outside corners 11 inches apart it's hard to find one that someone hasn't drilled standard mounting holes in.
  24. Wanted to buy I am looking for a 1928 Indiana license plate must be Indiana BMV suitable: • It must be metal • It may not be altered in any way • Fading must be minimal, and the plate cannot be faded to an illegible state • It may only contain minor rust on the face of the plate • It cannot be bent • It cannot have any unplanned holes • It must match the picture of the plate issued for the year of manufacture according to Indiana BMV records.
