  1. Here are some shots of a barn find I found a few years ago. http://159.218.3.3/11-18-2004%2048%20Chevy/index.html
  2. The rims are about 1/2 thick, no way to put clip-ons on. The spokes are too large for motorcycle weights. There is no good place for stick-ons I did find on the Internet about wrapping solder around the spokes My model A will run 60 MPH I think balancing would be a plus, The wheels will mount on my Cemb k10 microprocessor-based, wheel balancer and it size is within the balancers ranges. The one I tried is off over 3 oz.
  3. Well I removed the tire cover, I was taking it off the clean the well and under the cover and after being on for years it took 30 minutes to get it off and one of the seems is starting to give way so I don't think I will put it back on. For turn signals I used some cheap Motorcycle lights I got off Ebay all 4 for $7.99. Only problem I has when removing the 12 volt bulb, one of the cheap china bulbs busting and cut my thumb.

    Wheel weights

What kind of wheel weight do people use on Model A rims. I have tried stick-on but it takes so many they fall off
  5. You got it!! Since I plan on driving it and at times I get caught out after dark I added turn signals.
  6. I removed the grill guard and the side mount mirror from my Model A. I think it looks better without the guard was too fancy for a $380 1928 Model A roadster. I also add something other than the 1928 Plate. Do you see it.
  7. I am the luckiest man in the world!! I have everything!!!
  8. I had some extra wood so I thought I would build something to protect the gas tank on my Pinto.
  9. Dave said "Also note that "small car" includes Corvette, Lotus, Porsche, and other high-risk vehicles that have no equivalent in large cars or SUVs (or in the even more poorly performing pickup truck categories either" But there are smart car alternatives.
  10. You could look at it the other way??? The big SUV drivers are "Killing to destroy the planet"
  11. My first thought was Maxwell but it is far larger and not as delicate and the windshield is totally wrong.
  12. I almost forgot about about one of the greatest things about the Model A a Chevy can't match!!!! Turn sound up and Click here or http://beaver.vinu.edu/Model%20A/modela.wav it wouldn't let me insert a wav file
  13. This is the AACA list I hope it would do better that 100 points, on this list shoot for 400 points.
  14. I was never a Model A fan till I bought one. They are a blast to drive and very reliable and if something breaks get on the phone and have a replacement part in 2 days have it going again next the weekend. I am thinking about making one my daily driver.
  15. My 28 Roadster is 69 inches wide.
  16. If I were you I would check the cost on insuring a ramp truck car hauler. I friend of mine rebuilt one only to find it cost over $5000 a year to insure for private use. He had a heck of a time selling it because others had trouble insuring it. It was a totally restored 1973 Chevy C-30 crew cab, 454, auto PS, PB, AC, winch, new tires, SS Rim covers, new paint and mechanically rebuilt, Commercially built bed, Yellow with black bed. he finally sold it on EBay for less than he had in it. He sold it for under $5K
  17. I need one of these this week. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=568_1233111054 Great Old 1926 video
  18. Go to any of the 50 or so 55-57 T-bird suppliers, they will have the adapter.
  19. No sure where I got this one, most likey off the web.
  20. I had a 62 Ford Falcon that had a tube radio in it.
  21. "does it also open the rim for removal of the tire from the rim? It seems to me after removing a tire there should be a way to collapse the rim also." You collapse the rim to remove the tire, you expand the rim to install the tire,
  22. I hope you put on a hat that speedster looks even colder than my roadster. Unfortuneatly my wife had to work Monday so there wasn't anybody to take my picture so I just photographed the car, it's better looking anyway.
  23. I have mirrors for the wind wings the one I was talking about getting rid of is the one on a side mount spare tire, it won't stay in place enough to be usable anyway. I do have to admit I did a donut or two the Monday.
  24. I think I started something, I have gotten a couple of private messages from owners who decide to take out the old cars and had a great time. Sometimes we are so careful of our old cars, and treat them like fragile objects. We forget what they were built for and the type of roads they were originally driven on. I drove mine around in the snow cover field and I was surprised how well it rode and the took the bumps, I think it rode better than my 4x4 truck in the field. I was thinking about removing the bling from my Model a that was put on it before I got it.RE: radiator guard, quail, side mount mirror. I think i will keep the usable stuff like the wind wings and the trunk. I haven't decide about the side mount cover?
  25. Going from the chart at http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/acl_files/ford1928.html those color look way to dark, from this chart the colors closest matchs are Pembroke Gray and Commercial Drab
