  5. After many years of looking for a complete set of these I decided to make my own rocker cover wire harness clip. This style clip is a one year only item, unique to Buick, and used on all 1968 Buick V8 engines, 3 per vehicle. The clip slides over the valve cover stud and retains the engine wire harness along the top edge of the passenger side valve cover. These are a rarely seen item on any original or restored car and are almost impossible to find as NOS parts. They are modeled after an NOS clip and are 3D printed using High Temp,Translucent ABS-Like Resin. In the attached photos the NOS clip is slightly yellowed, the reproduction is similar in color. Each clip it test fit before shipping which causes slight scratches where it mounts on the post, the scratches cannot be seen once installed. The reproduction clips will break just like the originals so use care when installing the wire harness inside of them. The attached photos also show the clip installed on the rocker cover stud, reproduction clip on the right. A picture of a low milage 1968 350 engine showing the original clips and the listing for the clips in the 1968 parts book and a photo of 4 reproduction clips with the NOS clip above them. I am selling 4 (four) reproduction clips for the price of $20 which includes shipping. 3 are needed per vehicle with and extra clip included just in case one is lost or broken Please contact me at mrtromm@yahoo.com if interested. Thanks, Mike Reproduction clip on the left, NOS clip on the right.
  6. Hey guys, Mike T here. I have templates for all year Buick's from 1959 through 1976. They do not have the "scroll"holes along the edge. I use factory literature and copies of original stickers to make them look as close to the original stickers as possible. If you are interested in having a sticker made you can email me at mrtromm@yahoo.com Thanks for the positive feedback.... That '64 Riv sticker was made way back in July of 2003... Its been so long since I have been on this site I forgot I even had a user name, lol
  7. Keith, No problem using the photo, I may actually put those wheels on my GS this year just to give it a different look. I was searching the internet for new 14" trim rings for my current GS wheels and I came across this post. Anyone have nos or very good condition 1968 14" Buick trim rings for sale. Chrome, not the brushed finish used on the pictured wheels.
  8. Hey Keith, that's my car! LOL... I took that photo just to see what those wheels would look like on my GS. You are correct, those wheels were only offered in 1967 and 68 and came standard with disc brakes but they could also be ordered without the disc brake option. Mike Trom
  9. I live in the area and I knew nothing about the show.. It was not very well promoted around here...
  10. Thanks Roberta, It was a very rainy day for a car show today....I did not get a chance to go...
  11. Is this an invitation only car show? Can anyone come to veiw the cars? When is it?
  12. Mind if I jump in.. All 1968 and up Skylarks/GS's had the Vin serial number that could be viewed through the windshield, they were never located on the hinge pillar. What book are you using that shows this location? Also the '68/69 GS body can be told apart by the VIN serial number 44637"8" for 1968, 44637"9" for '69. Another quick way to tell on would be that the '68 GS coupes had a crank vent window and the '69 GS Coupe did not. There were 3 steering wheels used in 1968, standard two spoke, a deluxe and the sport wheel (simulated wood). They are all very difficult to find because the plastic is usually cracked. You may also want to specify a color wheel you are looking for.
  13. I know its not a classic but I would like to know if anyone knows of or has a 1978-79 Starfire with the Firenza package in either white or silver for sale. I am looking for a running, complete car. Please email me at mrtromm@yahoo.com Thanks... Mike Trom
  14. Brian, The cars look great.....Cool photos... How many had reproduction window stickers
  15. MrEarl I lightend up your first photo so you can see your faces..
  16. Chris, I have shown my GS at two different BCA Natiional Meets and I lay my convertible top boot on the ground under the gas tank. I keep the trunk clear of any clutter that way. I would think that you could have it in its bag (if you have one) ready for inspection if asked or close by. Good luck at the show... Mike Trom
  17. Does anyone have a clear copy of the "coat of arms" logo that is used in some of the 1962 Buick literature and on the 1962 Buick window price stickers? Its not the traditional "tri-shield" or the square with "buick" on an angle. Thanks, Mike
  18. Norb, Are those rims off of a '67 or '68? Do you know if they were always painted black? The only reason I am asking is because I have been told many times that '67 rims like yours were painted silver (argent) and any other color was incorrect (except red on the GS340 cars).. I have a photo of your style rim painted yellow (same as the body) and they were off of an original owner car. I have a set from a '68 GS that were factory painted blue just like the body of the car. So I believe that some of them came from the factory painted body color and others black.

He's a member there I believe. </div></div> Thats me. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
  20. Rick, I make reproduction stickers for Buicks but I have very limited info for 1963. Here is my web site http://mysite.verizon.net/mrtromm4/ My site does not come up with a google search for some reason <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> If you have the codes and prices we can work together to make a sticker for your car. My email is mrtromm@yahoo.com If anyone has copies of original stickers and would like to share copies with me I would appreciate it. Thanks,
  21. Is this what you are looking for? http://www.buickperformance.com/Overflow.htm
  22. Looks like Appolo Red was available.. Check here: http://autocolorlibrary.com/cgi-bin/search/searchpic.pl?1973-buick-pg01.jpg
  23. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> I think we should definetly have judged meets--IF the judge is actually competant in the class he judges in. </div></div> Having a competant judge or team of judges is key... I recently attended a local AACA regional meet and the judging in my class was a joke. I will never attend that meet again and it really made me appreciate the judging teams put together by the BCA. I appreciate anyone who gives up there time to learn how to judge correctly and spend the day judging but I think it would be better to not judge at all if there is not an experienced team. I wish I had more time to get involved with judging but I am one of those people that at this time barely has enough time attend a show more than once a year. Maybe as my kids get older I will have more time <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> I for one look forward to being judged at a National meet just so that I can learn what needs to be improved. I don't think it would be fair to just have judging for the "high" end restoration cars.
  24. I have purchased one of these books and all I can say is WOW..... If you ever wanted to know what those numbers and symbols were on your parts (not part numbers) this book will tell you how to decipher them..... Great book, very interesting, nice job Duane....
