  1. Given the miss miss-match in price between the title and the text, they might be open to offers. (they sure should be!) https://losangeles.craigslist.org/ant/cto/d/palmdale-1935-plymouth-delux-touring/7736698538.html 35 Plymouth four door touring with suicide doors. I have been storing this car for 50 years. Solid rust free California car. I purchased it from a man who lived in Burbank and had just moved up here to the Antelope Valley. He said he had been driving the car until a rod bearing started knocking, he then went to a junk yard and pulled out a six cylinder engine from a wrecked 50s Plymouth. He replaced the engine in the car but never finished hooking it up. I have the original engine, also the grill is in great condition, it has been stored on the back seat of the car for 50 years, the body is solid rust free and I have all the original SS trim and an extra set of hub caps. Also NOS head lite and tail lite lenses and some other parts original owners manual and a lot of original advertising. I have collected some parts for the car at swap meets but have not touched the car in the 50 years that I have owned it. Some years after I purchased the car I got a pair of original duel trumpet horns for the car new chrome and professionally restored by a guy who specialized in vintage horns. Paid more for the horns than I did for the car but this is a very hard to find factory accessory. Solid rust free car 100% complete, I have clean pink slip in my name. $7500 Cash and carry only. No trades (661) 350-3237
  2. This just in..... Latest News Update First data on South Bay’s new turbo roundabout are in — with surprising results. Is it really safer? A new turbo roundabout is seeing triple the rate of accidents then the year before it was constructed, but experts say decreasing rates of injury prove that the new intersection is safer.
  3. That's very interesting about the price in "today's dollars". I've always found those conversions hard to put in context because so much has changed in our modern world. The 490 was a few dollars cheaper than the Ford T, which is in itself interesting given Henry Ford's relentless push to lower costs and the OHV engine of the Chevy, which must have cost more to produce. I was wondering what a truly "basic" car would cost today, so I asked Google and came up with this one, available in India for about $5K: (Maruti Suzuki Alto 800) I suppose modern manufacturing methods have driven the costs down to a third of what they were in 1920.

  5. The seller didn't add that part about Le Mans, I did. I've had a few conversations with Chris Martin, the author of the book Wayne wrote about. That's his opinion, (or at least hope). Although he tried, he was not able to view this car when the Mullin museum was operating. It was in storage and they were not at all cooperative. I haven't heard from him in a year or more but I imagine he'll be bidding, and then we'll hopefully all find out. About 15 years ago, the late racing driver Tony Dron wrote a piece in one of the British magazines about driving a similar car at the LeMans Classic . He raced at Le Mans four times and once hit over 220 mph in qualifying, so it was quite a new experience for him to streak down the Mulsanne straight at 75 MPH.
  6. This car is in Gooding's auction of the Mullin collection. Built by Charles Montier and possibly a chassis used in his Le Mans entry of 1925. Note 4 wheel brakes, and OHV conversion of his own manufacture. Previously in the Schlumpf collection. https://www.goodingco.com/lot/c-1925-ford-montier-model-t-speedster/ this Model T Speedster is equipped with special features including a unique Montier overhead-valve cylinder head and oiling system, twin Solex carburetors, magneto ignition, and three-speed overdrive gearbox. Additionally, it is outfitted with French instrumentation, a modified fabric body, believed to have been added later, with a streamlined, staggered seating position, engine turned aluminum hood, lightweight fenders and running boards, and artillery style wheels which are also believed to have been added at a later date. While the modified Ford is not currently in running condition, it appears remarkably intact and would make a wonderful addition to any Ford or early race car collection. Estimate $ 10,000 - $ 20,000
  7. Two engines, but only one headlight! A bit steep at £ 60,000, but fun to see! https://www.prewarcar.com/514389-1929-two-engined-model-a-ford Here we have a completely unique, one off car. 15. True about "assembled". 356 Porsches were largely assembled, and nobody thinks anything about it.
  16. Looks very nice...is this interior close to right? https://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/cto/d/santa-cruz-1954-buick-century/7736038691.html 1954 Buick Century. 18. This design has aged well! That tall greenhouse is very nice.
  19. Far from perfect but an interesting car for not much money! Very detailed text in ad..... https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/blaine-survivor-1954-nash-statesman/7730165522.html I installed a new master cylinder and new wheel cylinders at each wheel. The rear brake pads were good, and the front brake pads were close to the rivets. So, I had those relined. So, the brakes work great now. Everything works as it should except the radio, the clock, and the fuel gage, (I tried to fix the sending unit, but wasn’t successful) (it can be rebuilt I’m told, and the gage and wiring are good as tested). I just hadn’t gotten it sent off to anyone yet. She has some rust on both rocker panels between the front and rear wheels that is only in the outer sheet metal and could easily be replaced by any sheet metal person. A bit more rust exists behind the front wheels with a 2×1/2” hole on the driver’s floorboard. The rest of the car looks pretty good besides some less than good body work and touch up paint.
