  1. I would think the supercharger would be a good addition to a flat head like this, which has trouble breathing as the revs increase. This "paxton" type blower doesn't produce boost until you wind it up a little, and even then it's pretty mild. I think it's very unfortunate that they painted it statin black.
  2. 3. 5. It seems like these turn up with surprising regularity...I wonder why that is. 6. Seems pretty over priced for the condition...no interior pics! https://fresno.craigslist.org/cto/d/neals-packard-business-coupe/7734832099.html Solid completely original 1939 Packard 110 coupe. You are not likely to run in to yourself at Coffee and Cars in a Packard. The last year for the classic Packard signature stand up grille. 6 cyl flathead all there but not running. Astonishingly complete and original marque begs restoration or unique resto-rod completion. Short wheelbase, clean lines, trim bumpers, no clunky side mounts and all flat glass. No apparent rot and it's all there. And, talk about patina ! $12,500 cash or may trade for late model, low mileage Ford pickup of equal or greater value. 7. Right! Same as "would run great with a minor carburetor adjustment'...if it were true, why wouldn't you just adjust it and raise the price?
  8. If it's not too rusty, that's about right, but the prices don't climb steeply after that. A friend recently bought a rough but running example for $1500.
  9. Interesting car, but another case of not understanding that rare does no mean valuable. It does look nice, perhaps Ex- Harrah's? Davis was an assembled car, so parts might not be as impossible as otherwise.... https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/d/reno-1922-davis/7727458054.html I have a 1922 Davis automobile in all original condition. Goes and stops $50,000 or best offer This car is 100% complete With all of the original Equipment Please contact for more information I am open to offers or trades of equal value. email: 7bd1b395e9df3c04ab5f3f4d0a05ef30@sale.craigslist.org

  11. I saw this title and figured it was a "full custom", but it seems it is a (hopefully correct) restoration. You have to go to the web site listed to actually see it (why?). I was not able to copy the pictures there. Concours win appears to be from 2001. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/vancouver-1941-lncoln-continental-show/7734948170.html To see the details on this remarkable show car view the website http://rohowell.com/lincoln/index.html The pictures on this ad were taken before the interior was installed to show the extent of preparation. Since website addresses are not "hot links" on craigslist it is necessary to copy and paste or type it in a web browser. email: 52bcce3ef6fb3c5ead553260efba4c98@sale.craigslist.org
  12. Always a little sad to hear that story, but if the guy was good 'till close to the end and then keeled over...that's the way I'd like it! Looks like a great opportunity for someone with some Essex experience!
  13. It's near Las Vegas so might not be too bad...no real condition info.... https://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/d/las-vegas-1929-buick-sedan/7734494540.html 1929 Buick sedan Project All pieces for the build included, Wooden spoke rims Glass is all there only one piece has a crack (drivers door) will have replaced In line 6 cylinder Factory suicide doors Manuel hand crank to start the car is still with the car. 14. Not a bargain (or is it?) but it does look nice. Is that upholstery correct? (more pics in ad) https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/d/los-angeles-1954-chevy-station-wagon/7734695182.html 1954 Chevy station wagon located in Stockton California 235 engine automatic transmission I'm asking $29K cash only no trades please do not text me and ask me what's the least I would take for it without seeing the vehicle email: d82e26ac21a3367ab96454664215f10f@sale.craigslist.org
  15. No price given but they mention recent receipts, so may or may not be aware of typical market values. It does sound like a nice "driver", and your wife will enjoy Pacific Grove! https://monterey.craigslist.org/cto/d/pacific-grove-classic-1940-chrysler/7734466139.html Rare 1940 Chrysler Windsor 4 door sedan. Factory suicide doors in the rear. Runs and drives well. New Green and teal hounds tooth Interior, new wiring to 12v, very clean and reliable for its age. We have Too many cars. It has an older restoration. Original 3 on the tree , Flathead 6 runs strong and pulls hard up hills. Just had $7600 in mechanical (receipts) work done to get her squared away. Great pre-war car. 16. Sure to need a price adjustment once you learn what more is needed (more pics in ad) https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/sacramento-1934-chevy/7734169646.html Started restoration got into an accident and can no longer keep up with it. (916) 316-4245
  17. Exactly so! Back then, I always wanted to make a few modifications and turn one into a tri-5 Chevy someone had used the wrong dryer cycle on.
  18. Serious looking rear axel! They used a 30hp Continental engine so at least that part isn't too exotic.
  19. Many more pics and history (but not about this car) in ad... https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/d/sacramento-1930-rolls-royce-phantom-ii/7734347673.html This particular Phantom II is in running condition and was just serviced. All systems are fully functional on this vehicle. The Rolls starts up cold with no issues and makes great power. The Braking system works fantastically as well. This chassis was originally a 2 door Continental version of the PII but was rebodied with this Sedanca body in the 1970’s in England. The body is a Paris Henry Binder body. This is a great candidate for a full restoration or can be enjoyed regularly as is. Please Call, Text, Or Email with Inquiries: (916) 761-0081
  20. Of course, the Mustang "California Special" was a similar idea.....
  21. I thought about this after you wrote it and it seemed correct...yesterday I had an opportunity to test it in the garage and yes, I think that's what happened. It's been about 6 decades since I studied this stuff so I had to look up friction verses velocity and the book says friction is not dependent on velocity, so a wheel spinning backwards would theoretically provide no more drag than one that was locked and sliding. I think I read somewhere that steam locomotives would go to reverse in an emergency stop to avoid wearing a flat spot on the driving wheels. I didn't make them stop faster.
  22. I would suggest finding a professional restorer of porcelain and glass in your area. They are around, and they have the skill and products to do it in a way that will be virtually invisible.
  23. It would be great to see the route and dates! I've gone to a stop on Hemmings Great Race a couple of times as a spectator...it's fun to see the cars and talk to the participants.
  24. I don't think this is a stock color but we've sure seem worse! https://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/cto/d/ben-lomond-1940-buick-special/7733269965.html 1940 Buick 56S Special Straight 8, with three on the tree.
