  1. Thanks for the word of encouragement E-116-YH, I will PM you in the later in the week just a bit busy with work at the moment. Cheers Ben
  2. Still going through the boxes of and checking everything out. Found on the windscreen Frame/vent these decals. I will try and get better photos so we can reproduce them hopefully
  3. Thanks for the words of encouragement Yes it may take a while. I can’t believe all the variations within a model run, so with that in mind and the fact there are not too many examples close by for reference I think it will provide a good many challengers
  4. So I just purchased myself another project, don’t ask why I really don’t know🙄🤣. It’s basket case that most wouldn’t bother with but here in Australia projects are not as plentiful. Any way here are a couple of pics, I’m still sorting through things to see what there and what’s not. I will do a bit of a mock up in the coming days. So I looked up the FEDCO plate and here’s what it came up with 1927-28 Chrysler 72 118 3/4 wheelbase. It’s a Fisher Body Coupe, the fun thing is all my books say that the 72 wheelbase is 120.5 and the 1927 Finer 70 were 112 inch. These sort of differences have to be a real nightmare for those of us silly enough to take on a project like this.
  5. The Chrysler 65 has the coil included in the switch, my one gave trouble so I removed it and just run a normal switch and coil. There have been photos on here in the past but probably under the Chrysler section. I would take a photo of mine but I’m flat out with work at the moment. Cheers Ben
  6. If we had had snow I’m sure we would have done something similar. Instead after big rain my brothers and I settled for towing each other on a surfboard up and down between the Flooded rows of bananas that were growing on our farm. The tow vehicle was a Honda three wheeler not exactly safe itself. I guess I would have been 9-10 at the time this was the late 80’s. It was great fun and surprisingly I can’t remember any Injuries
  7. Thanks Leif yeah that certainly looks like a more likely contender then Studebaker. This great great Grandfather of mine ( Dr William Studdy) had a real love of motoring and apart from his Citroen’s that he absolutely loved and kept for some time, he appears to have chop and change cars/brands on a regular basis. Thanks again, Ben
  8. Thanks Ariejan. I would say that’s a match. This car had previously been identified as an Austro-Daimler but this identification never sat well with me. I’m not sure how popular Metallurgique cars were in Australia but I do know there were a few here. The gentleman driving the car was Dr William Studdy he traveled the world extensively just before and during the early stages of WW1. He had a love of cars but apparently was a terrible driver but owned many different cars during his life. Thanks again for the identification.
  9. Thanks guys, Studebaker certainly looks like a strong contender. Some interesting things happened in Australia with body styles and side lights etc which can make it a little difficult to identify old cars in photos. Thanks again it’s much appreciated.
  10. I think I have posted this one before but will give it another go. Any clues photo was taken in Sydney Australia possibly in the 1920’s my Great Great Grandparents are in the car
  11. Any help appreciated in identifying this twenties car, some one had identified it as a Dodge Victory Six but I’m not so sure. Photo was taken some where between Sydney and Gunnedah NSW Australia probably late 20’s early 30’s.It was my one of Great Great Grandparents cars. Thanks
  12. That is what I was kind of thinking but then thought why the roadster and not the Tourer/Phaeton? Anyway was just interested to see if anyone knew. Thanks for replying. Cheers Ben
  13. I have just been having a look through the Instruction Book for my Chrysler 75 and in the tool list is a Floor board lock key. Does anybody know what the function of this was and what it looked like. Thanks in advance
  14. 🤔 hmmm interesting information, I will be pulling one of these engines down hopefully early next year I will be curious to see what I find as the manual doesn’t mention a seal anywhere. Anyway will be interesting to see if any others have experience with these engines.
  15. Not sure if the 72’s were the same as the 75’s but mechanically I don’t think there was much difference. Here’s a couple of pages out of my 75 manual that may help. There is no rear main seal, the first thing I would check is that the drain passage isn’t block any way it is a bit late here so I will leave you with diagrams to study Cheers Ben
  16. It’s appear to be painted sheet metal but fairly thick. If you jump over to the Chrysler section there a topic titled Chrysler 72 Sports Roadster windscreen variations or something of that sound, I posted a lot more details there, that may help. I would post the link to it here but I don’t know how. Any way be interested to see if this is at all helpful. Cheers Ben
  17. This may well be of no assistance at all but I have a cowl and windscreen posts and the remains of the windscreen frame off a 28 Chrysler 72 sports roadster and it used a similar style set up as what is in one of JRA photos so I thought I would share a couple of pictures the bottom frame is fixed and of steel construction any way photos probably explains better. Anyway thought and throw it out there in case it helps. Cheers Ben
  18. Yeah it worked out well and didn’t break the bank, I love honeycomb radiators but just couldn’t warrant the cost on thIs driver. The motor runs at the right temp now with a thermostat installed and doesn’t get hot. Hopefully you can find some one locally that can help you out best of luck. Cheers Ben
  19. Here’s a couple of pics of my modern core, sorry not the best photos but starting to run out of daylight here. The first picture is of the raw core material this piece was cut out for the crank hole, that’s why it is a bit rough. Hope this helps
  20. Yeah I sent my one to Bob Brimms up at Murwillumbah Northern NSW ( about an hour away from me) and me being as careful as I’am with my money(some may say tighter than a fishes 🙄) I was happy enough to go with a quality modern core. My radiator had been messed with over the years so some of the tubes were not even connected into the top tank and as for the bottom tank it was easier to start again. Bob researched a fair bit before he tackled it and that was when he discovered the many changes through the models production. Anyway I was really pleased with end result the car runs much cooler now. Bob is on this forum but if you want I can pm his number to you. Cheers Ben
  21. I’m not sure if they would interchange, I would be surprised if they did. I do know after recently having my Chrysler 65 radiator rebuilt that even within the model 65 there were many small changes to the radiator actually after looking at other cars there were a lot of change during the year. This makes life nice and interesting 🙄😁
  22. Thanks for all the help. That certainly looks a match. Thanks again Ben
  23. Hi there and thanks in advance here is an old photo from Lismore NSW Australia that I have lifted from another site where the question was being asked of what make it is? Any thoughts? I know it looks familiar but can’t pick it. Thanks again
  24. Thanks Bob I will check it out but probably more importantly I will check the new gasket when it arrives. Cheers Ben
  25. Yeah it certainly was thanks for the tip. I haven’t had much to do with these new gaskets so was use to doing just the one re torque and then pretty much forget. They car was going so good before this so it was pretty disappointing but at least/ hopefully not that big of a job to fix.
