  4. Hi Ron, Are you a member of the Buick Club of Australia (NSW)? there are a number of Members with '29 roadsters that might be able to assist. Cheers Paul
  5. Hi all, I thought I would post some photos of other Buick I came across over the last week, Cheers Paul
  6. Hi all, not sure if being a "passenger" counts as driving an old Buick but I wanted to share photos of a pre-1931 multi-club event I attended over the last 6 days in Australia in and around the western New South Wales town of Dubbo which is about 240 miles from Sydney. We had in excess of 125 cars attended from around Australia of all makes and models including about 10 Buicks. We went on a couple of country road runs including a morning tea break at a country school with only 12 students. I think we increased the town population by a factor of four!. We also dropped in some new Buick Club of NSW members along the way which gave us a look at a 1917, 1918 and 1919 Buick along with a late teens V8 Cadillac among other cars. I jumped into a number of Buicks for a ride including 1925 and 1928 tourers, a 1929 Marquette tourer and a 1929 roadster. Hope you enjoy the photos, Cheers Paul
  7. Dubbo is coming along nicely. A bunch of us from the Buick club are heading up to Dubbo for a multi-club pre 1931 meet next week during which we will be looking at possible runs and other locations for next years Nationals.
  8. Hey Rodney, I just noticed that the sequence of photos makes it look like you are going backwards (based on the grid numbers) 🙂 I had a chance to drive my '36 around Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney....of course my race gear was an original 1940's pin striped suit and fedora hat!
  9. Hi all Can anyone assist me in identifying the year/ model for this tail light Cheers Paul
  10. The Buick Club of NSW had it's monthly run 60 miles north of Sydney on the Old Pacific Highway to a place called Harvest Garden, a small cafe with vintage goods and local produce where we had a great lunch under the trees on a sunny and warm Autumn day. When we arrived the car-park which is shared by a couple of other business was full of members from various car clubs including Ferrari, Ford and Holden clubs. The Old Pacific Highway is now a Mecca for car and bike and enthusiasts with it's sweeping corners, undulating terrain and fantastic views across the Hawkesbury River. For a change, I didn't have a 2 hour drive to get to the start of the run, Harvest Garden being an hours leisurely drive without traffic along country roads from my home on the Central Coast with a round trip of 52 miles. Please enjoy the photos, Cheers Paul
  11. Hi Rodney, great article in the New South Wales Buick Club magazine. I love it when people delve into one specific issue in great detail. Cheers Paul
  12. HI Layden, Thanks again for all your help and your time in providing this information Cheers Paul White
  13. Hi Layden, Are you able to tell me how these tyre locks work? Cheers Paul
  14. Hi Layden, yes, they are evenly spaced between the screw holes in the rim Cheers Paul
  15. Hi all, A friend is currently restoring a 1908 Buick and we were discussing some elongated holes in the rim as distinct from the screw holes. I was wondering whether anyone out there knew the purpose of these holes? Cheers Paul
  16. Hi all, Thought you might like one last photo of my '36 Buick taken during last weekend's run, Cheers Paul
  17. Thanks Ben, hope you and yours are well. This run had been planned for last year but Covid saw it cancelled along with a bunch of other events. We haven't had a Covid case in our state for almost 2 months and things are slowly coming back to normal so I hope to be able to post photos of new runs here over the next few months. I can't believe it has been almost 3 years since we met at the Denver Nationals! Cheers Paul
  18. Hi all The next day was a 50 mile run through undulating farm land and small country towns in 80 degree sunny weather stopping at an old pub in a town called Tarana. The next stop was for a drink at a pub in an even smaller town called Rydal where I took a photo of my wife in front of a friend's '28 Buick. Later on we displayed the cars on the lawns of the Black Gold motel (named after the regions coal mines). After a fun-filled dinner on Saturday night, the skies opened up with a 63 degree rainy day and a long drive back home in fog through the Blue Mountains on Sunday which was a little wet for the '20s cars. I hope you enjoy the photos. Cheers Paul
  19. Hi all I have just returned from a weekend away in the country 80 miles west of Sydney where we held our the Buick Club of New South Wales President's run. Weather on the run up was humid with a few showers. we stopped in at a now closed cement works in a place called Portland, the storage silos having been painted with some of the people that worked in the plant. We had a display of the 23 Buicks that attended and were joined by a local car group with a range of different cars including Australian designed Fords and Holden built 1930's Chevrolets. Whilst touring the site we came across a kangaroo that had found its way in but had a little problem escaping
  20. seems to have had a tough life for a 55K miles car inside and out
  21. Hi all, Another fabulous 83F day here in Sydney Australia with a Sunday Club run and lunch out to Western Sydney. Cheers Paul
  22. Hi Ron, I would suggest you send an email to John Forster, editor of the Buick pre-war magazine, he can send a world wide email through his address. He can be contacted through the Buick Club of Queensland. Alternately, you might contact Phil Green in Sydney. He seems to have quite a range of NOS ring and pinion gears for early Buicks. He seems to advertise on Ebay.com.au. Cheers Paul White Secretary, Buick Club of NSW
  23. Mine are rock hard too, replacements arrived in the mail today along with a bunch of other parts, fun weekend ahead
