  1. It’s not brass, it’s a silver color. It is a 1912 Michigan cash register, which is a lesser known brand than National. I looked into it at one time but it’s something I plan to keep. It works and only goes up to like $20 I think. Thanks for the the heads up!
  2. So hard to do this but it is what it is. Thank you everyone who has helped. https://m.ebay.com/itm/1955-CHEVY-2-DOOR-210-POST-BELAIR-TRIM-GASSER-HOT-ROD-RAT-RESTORATION-NHRA-DRAG-1955-Chevrolet-Bel-/162907101896
  3. Yes, contact the DMV of your state. Many do not require titles for trailers of that size, but DMV can tell you for sure.
  4. Hum... I’ve had good luck for the past several years, including the Lincoln I just sold.
  5. Yes I’ve been able to add, but not edit what I’d previously written.
  6. Well that won’t work. Lol. I think I need to sell some houses before I buy anymore! Haha
  7. Thanks. This will be a quick trip. I am hoping to check out a guest cottage in Phoenix that might work temporarily as well. I will let you know if I take the job.
  8. If it’s an auction and anyone has bid, it won’t let you edit. Must be different for a buy it now or other kind of sale.
  9. @keiser31, I am headed down to your neck of the woods today and tomorrow to see about a job. I may be relocating down there. Maybe I will see some of those cars that you always post about! Best of of luck to all involved in the show. Indeed it’s a lot of work, even more after you are selected, and the timing was not right for me and Ms. Peggy Sue.
  10. You can add info that will show below the listing, but can only edit until you have bids.
  11. I have tried both methods for selling cars, sometimes on the same listing. Have had much better luck with the auction, although I sold one “Buy it now” when I offered it in addition to an auction. The price was getting close to the buy it now price and the buyer didn’t want to lose out. Low starting prices with reserve gets a lot of eyeballs on the listing. The more exposure, the better chance of selling and the more bids (activity), even low ones, the more the listing is featured in searches.
  12. I guess I have had really good luck with eBay in the last 3 years. Most cars sold the first go around and only 2 took longer. They happened to be posted right before Christmas, so I wasn’t surprised. I do agree though, that just because it doesn’t sell the first or second time on eBay, doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the car or price. I agree with Matt that it can take time for the right buyer to come along.
  13. I told the producers that if the show continues and the timing was better that I would be open to participating in the future. They noted that so we will see. To be continued... In the meantime I look forward to feedback from a few who have contacted me that will/may be involved.
  14. I am not in a position to give it my full attention and make sure I do him proud.
  15. Hey guys, I am very sorry if this disappoints anyone, but for reasons I’d rather not discuss, I am going to back out of the Discovery Channel Project. It just isn’t good for me right now.
  16. There are some insertion fees. If you have a reserve price (40), add bold headlines, large pictures, etc. depending on choices. Most fees besides reserve are a few bucks. The fee if you sell it is indeed $125. I have sold several. I don’t think total fees have ever been over $200 for options I chose.
  17. That looks a like a car would go on the trailer a lot easier than @JACK M‘s trick. I won’t elaborate. He can if he wants. ???
  18. Also, find a similar car for sale. Same make/model. “Click sell one like this”. Change anything you need to. Easier then starting from scratch.
  19. Sent via fb. I couldn’t download it from my phone otherwise.
  20. I’ve sold several and it’s easier than the ones in person. Good info above. Also, be sure to put as is, where is, etc. I will message you a copy of one so you can get some verbiage ideas. just change it up some as it’s not my verbiage, but someone who helped me. I like the deposit because it keeps people who might not be serious from jerking you around too long. Deposit in 24 hours or whatever and the balance in however many days.
  21. For those of you who worry about getting off topic, please don’t. I learn so much from your comments.
  22. Guys I won’t tow it backwards. It would ruin a convertible. Plus the consensus of most Corvair guys is it’s not a good idea for any of them. I understand the logic, but the guys who tow them for the most part don’t. I also know several guys who have towed them long distances with 16 foot trailers with a dovetail like mine with no issues facing forward. Of course the hitch will be helpful but some don’t even have that. (I will).
  23. I remembered someone had connections to Hollywood through their daughter. If he, or anyone with legal experience, etc would like to review the paperwork I was sent, please let me know. I want to make sure it looks legit, etc. I have one specific question also. ~(Almost retired) #oldcarprincess
