  1. Hey guys, life’s been crazy lately, so I haven’t been on. In fact, I’d completely forgotten about this thread! I thought about y’all because I bought a ticket to a fundraiser today to see The Brothers Collection in Salem, OR this week. (Over 350 cars). I’m in the process of selling my house to move to Orlando, to be closer to my son’s family and first grandchild, so this will be my last fall with my beloved trees. Looking forward to simplifying my life and enjoying my father’s Ford and Corvair in FL in the next year! (If anyone has any ideas for storage of 2 cars near St Cloud, please let me know). Thank you for reviving this thread and posting your pics. I’m waiting on a rebuilt carb for the Ford, so my pics don’t include a car.
  2. In this case I should probably buy a standard battery and get rid of the Optima. My tender doesn’t have a timer. Thanks for the info Jack. For now I am going to replace the starter and find someone to rebuild the carb I have (early Autolight 1200, in case you know someone).
  3. Hey guys, thank you all and sorry, I didn’t mean to hijack this thread. Seems it’s the starter and not the battery after all. Also am going to look into getting the carb rebuilt because there is a lot of gas leaking. Forgot about that before. I’ve always had issues with the fuel accelerator, but not sure if that’s what is causing it.
  4. I mean, granted I don’t drive her often, but every time, even with the trickle charger always on her, she has issues. I’ve been told those Optimas used to be good, but lots of issues now. It’s never worked right and it’s about 3 years old I think.
  5. Thanks everyone. The insurance company couldn’t get a company to pick up. A friend is bringing a new battery. Iv’e had nothing but issues since I bought the optima for the ‘57. She’s getting a new battery. What a waste of money that battery was. Never again.
  6. I have brushes, it’s around the corner from my home. They look clean but I think my truck battery is weird and not connecting. It’s an optima battery, just 3 years old or so and nothing but issues because I don’t drive a lot. So I keep it on a trickle charger, but that’s not real helpful. Time for a new battery.
  7. That number says they are closed. Does anyone have the number for the tow department. I pay extra for that but it’s not on my card.
  8. Does anyone know who to call at JC Taylor when you need a tow? Their regular number says they are closed.
  9. It won’t charge and the battery isn’t old. I guess it’s time to call the tow truck.
  10. I didn’t make it. 🤣 She’s been on the trickle charger. Drove her to the store and came back to get a hat to go for a longer ride. Made the mistake of turning her off. Apparently, she wants to go back to sleep in the garage. 🥹
  11. This was the one that had belonged to my dad, in 2019, after Jack finished it.
  12. Hi all, Many of you will remember my father’s Jeepster that @JACK M finished restoring and sold. I really thought this color combo was something my father dreamed up, but today I found this for sale. I never thought I’d see another with these colors. It’s most definitely a different car. Found it for sale on Facebook.
  13. Hi all, I will have to go back for another trip. My son came down with Covid while I was there, so we didn’t get to visit any of the great places you recommended. We were in isolation most of my trip. It was still great to see them and we had a fun few days before that happened.
  14. Thank you everyone. I hope you all have a nice Easter! 🐣🐇 💐
  15. Thanks everyone, as usual, you have been a great help with so many suggestions. Thank you! I am sure I will be visiting my son and DIL often, and I will post pictures when I visit these museums. My daughter’s name is Tia. She has balance issues and is very sensitive to light and sound, which makes it nearly impossible for her to go anywhere. This is a picture of her and my son, Josh, from a few years ago, before her accident. I greatly appreciate all the kind words and prayers for her. 💗
  16. It looks like their website is no longer up. Does anyone know if they are still open?
  17. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Suggestions are perfect and you’ve given me some great ideas! I do believe my daughter has some permanent brain injury, but I pray I’m wrong. Nice to hear from all of you! 💗
  18. Hey guys, sorry I haven’t been on very much lately. Been getting my career ramped back up and taking care of my adult daughter, who became disabled due to a car accident almost 2 years ago. Anywho, I’m going to visit my son next month He has moved to the Orlando area. I was wondering if there are any must see antique car museums or other related attractions you’d recommend seeing? Hope y’all are doing well, and thanks in advance for any suggestions!
  19. One of my dad’s cars in Texas had a NH registration from the 80’s. It just sat in his Texas garage since he moved from NH. I was able to get a Texas title with the registration. A couple others, I only had a bill of sale and I thought I’d have to get bonded titles. I was turned down for them mainly because I was using a POA. I mailed the regional (Austin), DMV office with all the documents I had and wound up getting regular titles back in the mail for both. As for the OP, find out through your NJ DMV if they do titles with registrations from the state the car is in, or if they do bonded titles. I always had the best luck with the rural DMV offices. VIN checks by state police are typically required, so make sure it’s not stolen and the VIN on the frame matches other documents before purchasing.
  20. I just read that they did. https://jalopnik.com/chevrolet-donates-new-truck-to-teenager-who-drove-throu-184870384
  21. That almost looks like Coral Sand, but I have a Ford in that color and it looks different depending on lighting.
  22. Well many of you know how it feel about pink cars. I’ve probably posted these before since I haven’t taken any new ones recently. Looks different in different lighting. It’s the ‘57 Ford color, “Thunderbird Dusk Rose”.
