  1. I believe the 'Tic-Toc-Tach with the integrated clock and tach into one was a Mopar thing. I don't recall GM offering a single gauge that incorporated both. Craig

  3. The supercharged engine was only true on the Hawk for 1958. Sedans, wagons, and the J-body hardtop all had naturally-aspirated engines. For 1957, all Packards, including the Clipper Country Sedan (station wagon) were equipped with a supercharger. Craig

  5. As I stated, a full size car with a larger interior where that amount light would be needed to illuminate it at night. Assuming the nickel or chrome frame around it would cover an inch of it all around, 7" diameter may not be out of line for a ceiling-mounted dome light; especially in a coach-built car where it would have been a 'decorative' item in addition to being functional.   6. Agree with others on using the dishwasher, without the 'dry' setting. Remember, dishwashers are also designed to clean pots and pans, which weigh more than those wire wheel covers; not just grandma's fine china. Craig
  7. Also check your AMMETER. Remember, it is part of the path from the battery to the live power terminal on the ignition switch. Run a jumper wire from the two terminals at the back of the Ammeter, and see if it starts. Craig

  12. I believe some 1-1/2 ton and light-duty 2-ton Studebaker trucks also used the same wheels as the Dodge. Craig

  16. Its obviously a joke.   17. That is why they have often have a 'seniors' class for previous years' winners. There was a gorgeous '57 Chevrolet Bel Air two door hardtop and a museum-piece Rolls Royce Phantom III that consistently won awards at some car shows, and they got placed in a senior's class. This earned those two cars a prominent spot at the show entrance with signage to state they were previous winners and didn't want them to 'drop out' just because were weren't going to award them anymore trophies. We still valued their participation. Craig
  18. Yes, I saw it before. I did NOT say the Demon still holds the record, but it did for a time. I have always admired electric vehicles for their performance on the road. The city where I lived stupidly got rid of their old trolley buses, where they out-performed their diesel brethren, especially on hills. Even fully loaded with rush-hour passengers, the old trolley buses could accelerate and gain speed on hills while a diesel was stuck at 15mph dragging itself up the hill, well below the speed limit.   19. A hint. Considering it was originally a concept car, and actually becoming reality under the previous regime, we can definitely THANK Fiat for allowing R&D on this car carry on unhindered; which allowed it to set a record for the FASTEST 1/4 mile time; even beating Bugatti Veyron SS. Craig
  20. Besides Studebaker, the Hudson`s Bay department store in Canada had a line of home appliances and some other household items sold under their own 'Dictator' label before things went wrong.   21. 1972 is my preferred year for that generation of B and C body full-size GM cars. 1971 had those nasty flow-through vents on the trunklids, and 1973 was the first year of those ugly 5-mph bumpers that disgraced the looks of them at each end. And in 1972, the 'hardtops' were still true, pillarless hardtops. Craig
  22. The fit and finish far exceeds the original, with those big ugly 5-mph bumpers that stuck out at each end, and the always poor fitting plastic fillers in-between. Craig

  24. Obviously, you have most, if not all the information on these Buicks. I was going by memory, where I remember it was standard on the GS (or a sub-series of it) for at least one of the years that package was available. I got my year that they were standard wrong. Craig
