  1. One of my favorite colors for a '65, Burgundy Mist... It's at $8200 with 4 days to go. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1965-buick-riviera-16/
  2. There is a neat story on this car. Wide whites aren't doing it any favors. Kinda pricey. Not mine. https://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/d/grafton-1968-buick-riviera-mi-one-owner/6999846778.html
  3. You've got an outie, as opposed to my innie! I also see there's an I.D. tag there. I wonder if they are normally on the drain plug - seems easier to be discarded that way. On Fords they are on the differential bolts. I'll have to check on my '65 Riviera and see what that has on it.
  4. The plug hole looks pretty square, not like it's damaged. I ended up grinding down an old 1/2" extension to 7/16" and it worked pretty slick. Not sure why it has that odd size, but problem solved!
  5. Good for you! Did you advertise it locally at all? Was it someone from the area?
  6. This should be an easy question for you veterans. Trying to check my diff. fluid level. Neither a 3/8" or 1/2" ratchet will work on the plug. Measures 7/16 with my caliper. Wondering if I need to buy a special tool and if anyone knows WHY I have to buy a special tool. Usually they are standard ratchet size or a hex. Thanks, Jim
  7. Here's how mine on my '63 is routed, not sure if it's factory correct or not. Straight up, behind heater hose, into clamp. Jim
  8. Can you post some more details like the options it has and maybe the data plate? How many miles? When were the engine and trans rebuilt? Where's the car located? Thanks.
  9. Looks like a great car at a decent price. Not mine. Contact seller. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2833704836658372/?surface=product_details Jim
  10. Hello all, Another question about my '63. Is there an exhaust flange gasket between the exhaust pipe and the flapper valve? I've searched this forum, the internet, online auto parts stores. Can't seem to find anything. I snapped the 2 nuts, so I tapped into the old studs and tightened the pipe down. Still sounds noisy. I know the '65's have one. TIA, Jim
  11. Thanks guys. I've been working on various makes of cars for 40 years and never seen a distributor cocked like that. Must be a Nailhead thing. I've got Kroil soaking on it. May take a couple of days.
  12. Hello all, Trying to get this POS car running properly and I can't turn the distributor. I took the bolt and clamp off and it appears that on the right side, the distributor base is raised up 3/16" and the left side is flush with the block. This does not look right to me. This 60,000 mile car runs rough, engine probably never been out of the car. If this is not seated correctly, any thoughts on what may have happened? TIA, Jim
  13. Telriv is correct. I'm doing brake lines on my '63 and '65 Rivs. Ordered new lines from Inline tube. Ends are inverted flare.
  14. Great looking triple black '69 GS right where I live... https://appleton.craigslist.org/cto/d/neenah-1969-buick-riviera-gs/6981058648.html
  15. '65 GS in California... https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/d/sheridan-riviera-1965-buick/6981717849.html

  17. No, I'm asking about securing the actual cover to the underside of the metal dashboard. I will probably have an upholstery shop do it.
  18. I'm interested. Where is the car located? Do you have a picture of the data plate?
  19. How do you attach the edges of the dash pad to the underside of the dash?
  20. Okay, now I get it. I didn't try fitting it up. The brackets on the dash goes through the u shaped part of the dash pad. Thanks for your help.
  21. Bill, I am in the ROA already. I can screw the screw through the dash bracket. How does the dash pad capture the screw? The hole in the metal of the dash pad is much larger than the screw. Am I missing something on the dash pad? Jim
  22. Hello all, Trying to piece together my interior, got a couple questions. I need to know size and type of screw that holds the dash pad to the bracket. Does the screw just go up through the bracket and into the metal piece on the dash pad? Is the clip shown on the dash bracket supposed to be on the dash pad? Also wondering if there needs to be a spacer under the inside rear bucket seat bracket. The floors have been "repaired", and there's 1 1/2 inch gap between the mounting plate and the floor. Also wondering if there's anywhere to buy the front u-shaped brackets for the front seat that the mounts slide into. See attached pictures. Thanks in advance, Jim
  23. I'm trying to find out the application and value for these emblems that I acquired with some other parts. Any help would be appreciated. I was told that they are road wheel center cap emblems. I have 5 and 3 are in the original packaging. There are no markings anywhere and they each come with a double sided adhesive disc. They are 2.72" diameter, .178" thick. I have '65 road wheel caps and they seem a little small to fit those. Thanks, Jim .
  24. Looks like a pretty good deal here, $2500. Not mine. Contact seller. https://appleton.craigslist.org/cto/d/menasha-1983-buick-riviera-convertible/6940013743.html
