  1. I've been reading up on that, probably the way to go, but I just want to go with what I have. I already installed a new MC. Rock Auto is out of stock on boosters, so a Dewey rebuild may be my only option.
  2. Hello all, I'm going through the brakes on my '63 and there is brake fluid in the vacuum tank. I'm assuming that I need to replace the booster or get it rebuilt. What are my options for each of these solutions? Thanks in advance, Jim
  3. Thanks, RivNut! The valve is already gone. There's a custom exhaust on it.
  4. Hello, I've been trying to find one of these "donuts" online and I can't find anything. I checked the Walker and Fel-Pro sites also. Anyone have a part number or supplier? TIA, Jim
  5. A '65 GS on Ebay that actually might be legitimate? Not mine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-Buick-Riviera/163733711034?hash=item261f4a28ba:g:JygAAOSwwc1dAorK&vxp=mtr&frcectupt=true
  6. Sorry for the delay, I've been busy. It's a 12AU7A tube. Attached is a picture of it and the switch. "This tube finds use as a phase-inverter/splitter in push-pull amplifier circuits in ac/dc radio equipment and in many diversified applications such as multivibrators or oscillators in industrial control devices."
  7. The label is not readable and there are no other markings except the date "Nov 29, 1955" on the inside panel of the other half of the box. See picture. The output of it must have something to do with the terminals on the top of the box. There are only 3 wires, one for 12 volts and the other 2 went to the switch. The silver can is a "vibrator", not a capacitor.
  8. Hello all, I was wondering if some of the more, uh, "mature types" would know what this is. There's a transformer, tube and what appears to be a capacitor inside, and power resistors outside wired to a pushbutton under the dash. Thanks, Jim
  9. This is not my listing. Clean car, '64 with dual quads. Looks good from the front, but it's got an ugly-ass Continental kit on it, and fender skirts. See something new every day! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/684068938719417/
  10. I think that I was probably one of the first ones to call on it. He said he needed a couple of weeks to get the parts together. I called him this past Tuesday, left a message, no response. He called me Thursday, told me it was sold. Someone put pressure on him to look at it and they ended up buying it. Lesson learned.
  11. Not mine. Looks clean. Has GS badges, don't know if it's a real GS. https://greenbay.craigslist.org/cto/d/manitowoc-1967-buick-riviera/6871243174.html
  12. I know this is an old post, but I have a couple of questions. I'm going to look at a '65 GS this weekend and would like to verify the BS code. Which side of the car is the transmission plate on? Is the easiest way to verify the positraction rearend by jacking the car up and spinning one wheel? And the other wheel should spin in the same direction?
  13. That's pretty much the car that I'm looking for. I emailed the guy right away, but he just informed that it's sold.
  14. © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap (google map) 1965 65 Buick Riviera condition: good cylinders: 8 cylinders drive: rwd fuel: gas odometer: 147000 paint color: white size: full-size title status: clean transmission: automatic type: coupe 65 Buick Riviera 425 "Super Wildcat" eng. 2 4bbl. Carbs. Arizona car, All numbers matching. Good driver. Not a show car. Clams work. 1 of 425 made with the "Super Wildcat" eng. Non GS Putting stripes on these cars is like putting lipstick on a pig!
  15. 1964 Buick Riviera numbers matching 425 dual quad car. This is about 35 miles from where I live. Seller has the original invoice for the car. There's no Gran Sport badge on glovebox, but there is on tail panel and fenders. I am assuming someone added those? Should be interesting to see what it sells for. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Buick-Riviera/333082988739?hash=item4d8d4b10c3:g:6rkAAOSw94NcbKsy:rk:1:pf:0&vxp=mtr
  16. This '71 looks pretty nice for 6K... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/228307517691414
  17. I know that there's a green GS that was all over Craigslist that was a scam. And this ad does look different than most Ebay posts. I figured less scams would be on Ebay because there's more information about the seller available. The seller has been an Ebay member since 2004, no selling feedback, a lot of buying feedback.
  18. 1965 GS - $20K, Cheap so far, only a day and a half to go! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-Buick-Riviera/264118698302?hash=item3d7eb3813e:g:w6sAAOSwVMJcL9mI:rk:3:pf:0&vxp=mtr
  19. This is a travesty... But, it's only 2500 bucks and you can buy a lot of paint remover with the money left over. And wear a bag over your head when you trailer it home! https://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/d/1963-buick-riviera/6756660414.html
  20. This "65 GS" looks a bit iffy, but I thought I would post it anyways... No badges, no back seat, paint bubbling. Not mine. https://buffalo.craigslist.org/cto/d/65-buick-riviera-gs/6741675310.html
  21. I have a copy of the data plate. It's a J code "Willow Mist" paint car. Looks like 787 on trim code, black. Been for sale for a while, was on Ebay a couple of times.
  22. Hey RivNut. What's the black tank sitting on the driver's side inner fender?
  23. 1965 Buick Riviera Grand Sport black/black just posted 10/23. https://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/d/classic-car/6731063828.html
  24. The last 2 pictures are of the parts car. It has all of the GS badges except for the one on the back left side of the car. The holes are there but they were covered up before paint. It's a solid car, needs trim put back on, some interior work, carb rebuilt, PS pump leaks, brake work. https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/d/1965-buick-riviera-gs-trimmed/6699722466.html
  25. It is a numbers matching car, so it appears it is not a GS. I thought I might have found something rare, but I guess not. The car is 1 1/2 hours away so I'm not going to pursue it any further. It needed a lot of work anyways and I prefer other exterior colors over the silver. Thanks to all of you for responding. Jim
