I really hate to do this, but I just don't have time to do her justice. Her name is Rosie. She runs, stops and goes when asked, backs up, turns right and left. She has an original appearing spare in the trunk, 4 nearly new Coker bias tires on the ground. Interior is intact but incorrect. Exterior is good, but, though it is a '56 Buick color, she does not not match the build plate as should be the darker "Cadet Blue" of that year, you can see the darker blue in the picture of the engine compartment. Engine appears original. Trunk and floor boards are solid. Her original sale receipt, care book with oil change dates etc will go with her, along with any other of her records I have. (If you've read my other posts you mat know this the same make / year my Dad taught me to drive in back in the late '60's. He enjoyed talking with me about her from NY and helping me with little adjustments over the phone. He passed last November. Between that and the fact that I've opened a business my heart just isn't as in to owning her as it should be.) She is in western Montana right now and will winter over in my garage there unless you rescue her. There is of course a "re-homing" fee. Now only $16,500. She is currently insured per my company's appraisal at $25K, though I know they tend to go a little high.

Andrew, I'm not sure of the year these are for but the retractors, hardware, buckles etc are all here and in good shape. You might want to buy new belt fabric depending on your vehicle color, but that isn't a problem. Let me know if you're interested, or if you want more pictures. Thanks, Anne

Auburnseeker, thanks for noting the missing picture and price. I hadn't looked at the post until now, did not realize the picture didn't go up that I thought was there.

For Sale - A beautiful 1956 Buick Special, 2 door, hardtop, no post. Comes with 322 Cid Buick V-8 and Dynaflow transmission. She is painted a beautiful blue and white, and although the blue is a Buick color of the time it is incorrect per the build tag. She has nice near new upholstery however again, incorrect for the times. She comes with correct wheels and 4 Coker bias tires with less than 100 miles on them, as well as an older spare in the trunk. Body is near perfect, few minor areas of surface rust on the chrome. I bought her 4 or 5 years ago in the hopes of taking her back to full original state. Some of that work is done. However, now that my husband and I are retired we find there are many more ways to spend our time and she is not getting the attention she deserves. If you are seriously interested please email any questions you may have. Asking $20,000. Currently located in Montana.

Either would do as long as better than what I have, and that shouldn't be too hard to do! my license plate lite is completely gone, and the housing on the turn signal / parking light combo is so corroded I can't get the bulb in to stay!!

From the '56 I could use the license plate light assembly, the tail light lenses if not cracked, the visors and visor brackets. Also the windshield washer pump. Please let me know if you have any / all of this and prices. Thanks, Anne

I am not familiar with the show or the host but how about Catriona, after 'Australia's most travelled woman', that's the title earned by Catriona Rowntree after more than 18 years at the helm of Australia's favourite travel show, Getaway." (from the Authors Bio for "A Grandmother's Wisdom." I confess the name came up when I did a search for Grandmother and Australia. It seems Ms. Rowntree has written a book about her times with her Grandmother. I thought Grandmother ________ something would work given her (your car's) age and the fact that she took your children on what must have been delightful journeys. But I do like Catriona by itself, or even Grandmother Cat!

Hi all, I have some old seat belt material and some hardware that may or may not be of use to someone. It was in a box in the trunk of my 56 when I got her. I am putting some picture in, but please note, the buckles with GM on them, are now down to 2. I knocked one off the shelf and broke the plastic cover. Everything is here, but broken. I have no idea of value, just that they are of no use to be. If you are interested, I'd take a couple of dollars, plus shipping for each piece, less for just the small hardware pieces. Thanks, Anne
