(craigslist.org) Seller's Description: Selling my beloved Fleetwood Limo. Less than 50,000 actual miles. Might be the original spare tire...Engine is strong. No smoking, knocks or leaks. Transmission shifts like it should. Glass is all good.Has the folding "jump seats", seating up to 9. A power window glass divider between driver and passenger areas. PS/PB. Dual AC and heat (non-op).It has an interesting story! Purported to be the car used by the Mexican Consulate in Dallas. It had 2 grill emblems, one depicting the Mexican flag and the other was 1968 Olympics. Also have the "consular" license plate. I removed these but they will come with the car if you want them.It had been sitting since 1975 when I bought it in 1999. A "barn find". I have a lot of old cars. Recent set of new tires. Less than 500 miles on them. Lights and turn signals work. Needs lots to be perfect. Needs almost nothing to just enjoy it around town.Note: A couple pictures are from a professional photo-shoot it was used in.Please use the Craigslist email response option to reply. The Standard Catalog of American Cars, 1946-1975, Edited by John Gunnell states 1,037 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Formal Limousine produced but no number detailing how many of these limousines were ordered with the Landau Roof option. The Landau Roof option included a full padded roof, closed rear quarters, and a tiny "opera" rear window for the utmost privacy. Stylish landau irons were also part of the package but were a delete feature for a cleaner look.
  5. The two-door sedan typically had the same overall shape and body architecture as the four-door sedan, whereas the victoria coupe was more close-coupled in the seating and exterior proportions. Maybe pictures are better than a thousand words.
  6. Here is a better look at the image: Comparing the center car with those in The Cars of Oldsmobile by Dennis Casteele, it appears to have been a 1909 Model DR Flying Roadster.
  7. Ben, Depends on how badly and evenly the image is faded. Also depends on the sharpness quality of the original image. Some are very overexposed but still have details that can't be raised until that overexposure is back off. Gray scaling, since these are originally black and white images removes problems as modern scanners interprets the image when digitizing it. I use the basic free, shareware available for download at www.irfanview.com. It's easy to use which is a big plus, give it a try. Steve
  8. In all the hype, he forgot to mention the most significant thing about the Century Series Hupmobile is the design is credited to Amos Northup the chief designer for Murray Corporation, the production body producer. The Hupmobile Century Six would have been 'cross-shopped' among the six-cylinder Buicks, Chryslers, Studebakers, Nashes and Hudsons. Well-off buyers in the $3,000 segment only considered those cars when selecting a car for the household help to use for errands.

  12. Bringing those gentlemen and their touring car out of the faded 'fog':
  13. "The body is divided, but it has a cloth front seat so it looks like it might have been intended to be owner driven occasionally." A sedan upholstered throughout in broadcloth but also fitted with a partition window was referred to as a berline. As such, they were could appropriately be owner driven as well as by a chauffeur when the occasion demanded such.
  14. B. Jake: The bucket seat and console were the optional "Sports Package", the chrome trim around the rear bucket-style seats as one of the luxury details. As far as price, although the 1964 Mercury's typically don't command the prices the concurrent Ford Galaxie XL500 do, this top-line, highly-optional-equipped 1964 Mercury Park Lane convertible would be more worthy of it than most any we've seen. Steve
