  1. Thanks Peter, I talked to Buick Club Man Michael Book personally. He was able to answer my questions. I had posted in the BCA section, but no one responded. I thought I would post on the General Forum just to see if I could get an answer. I know that the general forum is AACA. Sorry for the mix up and Thanks for the help.
  2. Yes, Peter I know that it is a BCA event. I never suggested that it was not; go back and re-read the original post. Thanks for the link - I have been there already. The BCA meet website does not answer the question. Thanks for the help.
  3. I posted this in the Buick section but I have not gotten an answer from anybody. I am posting it here in hopes that someone will see it and answer my question. Thanks. I am a BCA member. My brother, also a BCA member, owns a 1941 Buick Series 90 Sedan. He can't make it to the Buick Meet at South Bend. Can I enter my brother's car under my name? Also, is there any other meet-associated costs with this meet other than the member's $35 attendance fee and the $35 car registration fee?
  4. Can someone answer this so I can send in my money tomorrow?
  5. You probably fried the points and I would think that the coil is cooked too.

  7. This old Dodge Pick Up tows a small fishing boat/trailer rig on regular basis. Near Shirley Drive, Calumet City, Illinois.
  8. 1975-76 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, Burnham Avenue, Calumet City, Illinois. I owned a couple of these over the years.
  9. You might be better off starting off with a complete car that runs or does not run and begin by restoring that. Would be cheaper and faster in the long run. And probably more beneficial in getting you the experience you will need for a future restoration. You might want to join a Regional Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club of America. The members can be a big help and may even be able to steer you to the right car. Try looking in Hemmings Motor News and on the internet for cars. California is car country so you should be able to find exactly what you are looking for right close by. Good Luck with your project.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

  11. Try this book published by the Early Ford V-8 Club of America titled "The 1937 Ford Book". A very good reference book. A Must Have. There are good Ford Reference books out there.
  12. These books are handy and have what you are looking for. They are very useful pieces of reference. Good luck with your 1937 Ford.
  13. Saturday was a sad day for the hobby when Pete Fileca, a BCA member since 1966 (BCA # 65), was found dead in his Calumet City, Illinois, home when he did not show up at Peotone. Pete was a great guy, a good friend and a tremendous help to me, my brother and my father over the past few decades. Pete's 1937 Century was an awesome car. I wish I had a photo. Pete will be missed by his family, friends and fellow antique automobile enthusiasts.
  14. This 1960s Ford Thunderbird is for sale for $2,600 on Freeland Avenue in Calumet City, Illinois. It's a little rough in spots but looks like it is all there. Never a big fan of Continental Kits on any car but a Continental, it looks especially bulky on this car. I think it detracts from the car's natural good looks.
  15. This late 60s - early 70s Chevrolet Pick Up Truck is for sale on State Line Road at US Route 6 just across the border at Hammond, Indiana.
  16. Earlier this year--A 1916 Ford Model T parked at Bob's Body Shop, State Street at Wentworth Avenue, Calumet City, Illinois. My 1937 Ford is stored a couple hundred yards west of this Antique Car Friendly Body shop.
  17. A 1975 or 76 Cadillac Eldorado in a gated residence near State Line Road, Calumet City, Illinois.
  18. This Corvette is not always on the street. I had to go back a few times to finally get some shots of it. He has been working on it. It's getting there. Near Burnham Avenue, Calumet City, Illinois.
  19. Pontiac Enthusiast near Dolton Road, Calumet City, Illiniois
  20. 1970-71 (?) Ford Maverick. Caught it on the fly. Could be a fake Grabber, then again it could be a real one; I just don't know. Buffalo Street, Calumet City, Illinois. My parents purchased a brand new Ford Maverick in early 1970. A drunk driver wiped it out as it sat parked in front of our house on Sibley Blvd in 1974.
  21. This body shop has its own boneyard collection at State Street and Price Street in Calumet City, Illinois, and is only a couple hundred yards from where I store my 1937 Ford. Old Corvair, Old T-bird, Old Cutlass, Old Impala, Old Pontiac. They had some others--a 1961 suicide door Lincoln Sedan, 60s Chevrolets and an old 50s aluminum camper. Those are gone.
  22. This 1972 Cadillac Eldorado looks to be too far gone for any economical restoration. You could probably buy two for the money you would sink into this. I used to collect early 70s Cadillac and the 71-72s are my favorite 70s Eldos. Pulaski Road, Calumet City, Illinois.
