DFeeney why is that? Any body interested in Babbitt equipment? I have it all to pour about any size bearing plus a line bore,new Babbitt, there is also a rod cutting machine that needs some work. Also a cylinder bore. I have not done bearing for 20 years, and don't plan to start. Contact me if interested

JV I'm surprised no one else hasn't mentioned Bill's. In the late 70's I took a V12 Auburn and a 32 Packard roadster out of there. Spent 4 days with a helper there taking them apart, even the frames so we could carry them out. After I paid Bill and was leaving , a guy stopped and ask me how much Bill had paid me for that load of junk on my trailer! I smiled said not enough and I was taking it back home, made my day.

The car I posted has new paint, rebuilt transmission, front suspension rebuilt, brakes rebuilt,new fuel tank,new top and hydraulic hoses, new interior. radio has not been upgraded. Car runs very strong and will go all day. This car is correct except for the radial tires.

I have this 1960 Thunderbird that is available at 26,000. It is located in south central Pennsylvania. Originally a California car and I have the original sales agreement plus window sticker. Pm me for more details

I did this job in Olympia, Washington a few years ago , all ash, (don't use oak). wood was purchased at a boat yard in town. Can send you contact info if you wish. Being from Pennsylvania and having plenty of ash i never expected to be so hard to get in the west, and expensive. Good luck

Grimy and Ed thanks for the information. This is an original car that has not been restored and I don't think run since the 50's. The chassis is covered in grease and grim from day one in 1917. The three blocks are broken from freezing and need repaired. The carburetor is thick with varnish. I am doing the basic rebuild and 20 years ago would have done it all myself but due to the limited time I have left wished to move things along a bit faster by contracting the accessories to other competent people. I want to drive this car this summer. Thanks again.

On my Lincoln the base wood for the molding is mahogany, the lighter panel appears to be maple vernier.

Thanks Grimy, I was trying to determine if the car had come with side mounted spares or rear mounted and you have answered this. I think the rear castings on each end and perhaps the bar are correct. the rest added later(had thoughts of the cover picture on the Jack Passey book) I would prefer to return the spares to the side and find a trunk rack or drawings

Thanks for all the response. At this time the plan is to repair the engine so we can enjoy the car. I think I can salvage the rear leather except the cushion. Front seats need redone. All three cylinders are cracked and will need repaired, am in the process of removing the engine now. The side windows are glass and beveled as is the quarter window. I am not a fan of California tops but it is growing on me. A curious thing to me is the right running board, under the pyramid aluminum at the front is the cast tire wells. Any thoughts? the spare holder on the rear is definitely to small to hold the spare tires. It has been many years since I've gotten an unmolested car and it is being well documented Despite any issues it may have I feel very fortunate to have this Pierce 38

Thanks George It was through an ad in the Pierce Arrow emporium that I got this car, I am a member. As for towing I thought when I was towing my 24 Lincoln I'd have somebody ride in it then we'd have 4 wheel brakes! John I'll post more pictures later

After many years in this hobby I finally found the proper tow vehicle. the fellow I bought it from assured me it had the factory towing package, although on close examination I question that. I bought it sight unseen and the seller even offered free gas for 6 months. Unfortunately the engine is seized so I'll need to find a good 460 to install.
