  1. Damn. Seriously?

    Nice job, Bob.

Thanks....just one more step I guess.

This one allows me to move the body to another garage that I just put up so I can get my soon to be powder-coated frame back in the main "heated" garage.

....sorry for the diversion here in this thread, this is a "Frame On" thread after all.

Again....I was to try this frame on resto myself at one point, there are days I wish I had stopped there but then again there are no regrets here.

I think a major aspect to consider what to do is if you have the dreaded undercoating. I can't imagine how some of you guys out there did it on your back.

  2. 100% correct.

It certainly doesn't help the hobby if a 24 year old pulls the body off of a decent running car and then runs out of money and interest and then the car gets sold for less than he has in it, THUS kicking out the real future of our hobby.

How about a 39 year old?

I was adamant that I was not doing a frame off until I suddenly woke up one day and all that was left was to lift the body off.

Honestly I should have waited, I would have been driving this car by now but once the engine ceased and that gave me time to do the engine bay...the rest is history.

I am enjoying this adventure immensely, my only regret is I don't have an old Buick to drive.

So as some advice to those who are thinking about it....understand this; its a huge commitment. No corners cut no "That will do" its an all in at this point. So if you want a nice looking driver DO NOT FRAME OFF. If you want the adventure and satisfaction of going all the way I highly recommend it.

  3. Just talk with MrEarl....he is working on way to breed them.

Maybe a "Beautiful Conception" is in your future?

Rather than Spam the whole AACA site I'll post the latest promo here....

1954 Buick...The Beautiful Buy, Forever Beautiful

    <iframe width="853" height="510" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZoAXyrHLJkI?hd=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Again it is our hope that many will see these on YouTube who would never have been to AACA or other forums and decide to go to the Nationals.

We want to convey with this one that it doesn't matter what condition your Buick is in...it will always and forever be "The Beautiful Buy"

  4. Careful when you say you want one...

I did and it took less than a month...I was planning for the year after fool.gif

For me it's more than the car...the 54B community is a great place to hang your hat! yes.gif

  5. As MrEarl laid out so well in his 5454th post our goal is to have 54-1954's at the Buick Nationals in 2012...can it be done?

Well it is a daunting task, we know....doesn't mean we can't try.

Get used to seeing us, this is going to last all the way to June 30, 2012!

Calling all the current and wanna-be 54'ers...come on and join in on the fun! friends.gif

Come and be a part of it all! party.gif

  6. He just needs to make it rapid fire, late at night and know will see....

So it looks like we have about 300 registered 54's, making that we need to get 18% of those to come out to the Nationals.

Maybe we just have to get more registered good.gif

  7. Great post Lamar!

This will be a year long campaign to get the word out to all those 54 owners to get down to the Buick Nationals.

  8. Com'on guys...you think MrEarl would waste a beautiful numerology opportunity like 5454 on some generic post about some car.

Its gotta be big....if it ever comes though, you all know he likes suspense.
