carrfixr Posted January 17, 2015 Share Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) i have nylon washers under the tag screw heads to protect the paint on my YOM restored plate. the nylon is visible beyond the screw head,,,,will that cause a deduction in points? If you want to be 100% sure that it is not a problem, you could always simply remove the tag and the screws for judging. There is no requirement for a license plate for a car to be judged. Another option would be to simply replace or modify the nylon washers so that they don't extend beyond the diameter of the heads of the screws. The fact that you are asking the question seems to indicate that you don't like the way the nylon washers look. That would be enough for me to replace or modify the nylon washers if it were my car. Vila Posted January 17, 2015 Share Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) The other options are good, or you could also use metal washers and add small black rubber O-rings underneath so the washers don't contact your paint.You will see the washers, but not the O-ring.
