1930 Pontiac Sedan

Recommended Posts

Recently purchased a 1930 Pontiac Sedan, 2 door, this summer. In process of deciding how to restore and what resources are available. I'm having alot of trouble finding information on early Pontiacs and the engine. Also looking for information on the dashboard / instrument panel layout. Also looking for suspension components such as king pin bushings. If anyone has information or expertise, I'd love to talk with you.

EGGE has king pins. They are excellent. I put a set in my Pontiac in 1959 at 99,000 miles. I had to replace them in 1986 at 240,000 miles. They worked perfect until one shattered when I hit a pot hole at about 55 mph. I now have 480,000 miles on the car and the king pins are fine. PM me if you have any technical questions. I have all the parts, shop and owners manuals for Pontiacs from 1926 to 1934.

Did Pontiac produce an owner's manual for 1931? Have looked for one for over 30 years, and have never seen one, or anyone who had one.

Dave; have you tried the POCI website lately? Even before it went out for refit, you had to be a member to login. (Just my opinion, but not a great way to recruit members.) I was a member of POCI for 2 years, most of the club seemed dedicated to '60's Pontiacs. (Not a bad thing, unless you have an Oakland.)

Bret; email me. I have a reprint of a manual that may help some.

C.J. thanks for the reply. which manual do you have I just got the Fisher body manual for 1926-1932 , although it is not very specific to my 2 dr. sedan. I also have a chevrolet repair manual for 1930. both reprints.

Hi, Bret...

You may want to try the AACA Library & Research Center. (On the Main Page, click on "Library" to the immediate right side.)

The AACA L&RC has been entrusted to maintain the "Archives" of the POCI. The POCI collection is an enormous amount of technical specifications relative to your questions.

Check it out.
