Thanks for the compliment, Brian.

I need to make some room for now, and decide what I want to do here in the next year....with everything. I have a tentative plan, but it will require both cars to leave - and I'm not sure I want to let the convertible go.

Know of any 71 Formal Coupes coming up for sale? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Adam, a short while ago, I believe Ted Nagel had a 2dr Centurion for sale. I can't remember where it was listed and don't know if it was a 71 or 72 or if it was a formal coupe or not, but sure looked like a nice car. Don't know if it is still for sale either.

Hmm, funny you mention "cave"

I'm planning a trip to Carlsbad Caverns late in September.

I will "cave" there!

Ted

adam, i have been following your post about the 71 lesabre for about a year. my first car was a 4 dr without the post around the windows. i cant believe how much you have done to the car in such a short time and that you now want to sell. what i really cant believe is that no one has bought it yet. in the past year i have going to local car shows just south of boston and have seen cars (not buicks)in much worse shape for more money.(yes i live about 15 miles from where you had the car shipped from) good luck with selling, i wish i had found the car when it was local, but lucky for the car you found it and did a great job with it. best of luck, thanks for the memories of my 1st car. mark

Hey Fellas....John Rocklein here. I am the proud new owner of Adam's 1971 LeSabre. You were correct Brian, the ride from Missouri to Virginia was wonderful! Route 64 East all the way. The car performed flawlessly, and I kept it at about 65MPH from St. Louis, to Chesterfield, VA (approx 825 miles). Suprisingly enough, I got about 18MPG!! Adam supplied me with some extra radiator hoses, and antifreeze just in case! 13 1/2 hours later, I backed the car into the garage where it has been sitting ever since. You all will be happy to hear that the car will be taken care of better than I take care of myself. The garage is heated, and the car sits on carpet! I managed to find a set of NOS 1971 Virgina licence plates that will soon adorn the car.

Future plans include Buick Ralley Rims, and possible replacement of the cloth interior. I have found a local shop that can replace the cloth with original materials. But, the price was a bit high, so for now I think I will try to stay with whats already there. When the Buick Nationals come to the eastern seaboard, you can be sure to see me there with the car.

I'll be sure to post photos of any updates with the car.

Thanks again Adam! JOHN
