Need part shipped,, east to west

I'm on the west coast, and I found a fender I want on the east coast. Seller doesn't want to be bothered with shipping.

Anyone know of a service that would box and ship a part from PA to Calif? With as little as possible trouble to the shipper. I sure would like to have that part, but not enough to fly , or drive, back and pick it up....

Anyone in PA going to Disneyland soon???

Thanks.....

Where in PA, I live on the eastern side (Allentown area). If it's close enough and already paid for, I'll pick it up and ship it to ya. I feel your pain, I had same type of situation, I found 4 fenders in Texas, it took some work but I was able to find a trucking company (Estes) to make the delivery to PA for me, I think it was $80-$90 bucks. .

Hi. I appreciate your offer. I have my old fenders in the back of my truck, and I was going to go to the local UPS store, show them to the guy, and ask him if they have a store near the other end, and if they would package and ship them for me. I don't even care if they are packaged. Scratches and small dents wouldn't bother me.

The fenders are in Ligonier, PA. sounds like one of those huge cities. Two liquor stores and a gas station.

I saw them on ebay for a good price. No one bid on them, so I wrote to him and asked, since he won't be bothered with shipping them, if I pay full price, would he cut off the sections I want, and ship that. I only need the lower, rear section where the fenders meet the door/rocker. Mine is rusted out on both sides, and right where the rust is, is a complicatd mounting bracket, part of the fender, that is also ruined, and would be very difficult to duplicate. Making a fender patch panel would be simple, but the bracket is another story. Local metal smiths want $500.00, just to duplicate that brackets!!

I only need about an eight inch square section, on both sides. the whole fender would be nice, but I'll take what I can get, at this point.

It's been 24 hours since the auction ended, and I haven't recieved an answer, so I am assuming he doesn't want to go to the trouble of cutting them off for me. He has fenders he can't sell, and I don't have parts I desperatly need.

so, here I am at plan two...

Hopefully he lives down the street from you, but with my luck....... Probably not. I would definately pay for them in full before expecting either you, or he, to do anything with them.

Thank you, again, for your offer of help....

Rocketman, and anyone else reading this, Flying to Pa. and picking up the fenders is cheaper than using UPS !! UPS STORE is even more costly. FedEx Ground, works well and your parts actually arive UNSMASHED, unlike the Brown Shirts. DHL will take a larger box than FedEx and works very well also. REAL large stuff will ship Greyhound Express, yes the BUS people. Shipped a 1925 Franklin hood Connecticut to LA for under $60.00. I don't understand why a seller wouldn't ship a fender but that is another story. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Hi,

Ligonier, PA... Well that is 4+ hours away, towards Pittsburgh, so that would be over an 8 hr drive round trip.

A little to far for me to go get them for your.. but thought I'd make the offer and try to help.

Hopefully he'll come to his senses and help you out.. Good luck

Hello, Steve...Welcome to the AACA Forum.

You could try the <span style="font-weight: bold">"AACA Laurel Highlands Region"</span>. Within the page header above, click on Community, Local Clubs, scroll down to Pennsylvania Regions/Chapters, <span style="font-weight: bold">Laurel Highlands Region</span>. Their site shows last year's meet only, however, there are links to some officials, of whom, might assist.

While your at it, please consider joining the AACA if you have not already done so...

Gary

I am in the same boat as you. Keep me in mind ,

if you should find anyone to transport your fender.

I bought a rear qtr. panel in NY and need it shipped

out here to LA, and I sold someone some rear qtr. panels in Ct. and need to find someone to transport them to him in Ct.
