t'man,

Sure rub it in as my car stands on its stand in my garage at home. Just kidding thanks for sharing. That color sure does look different in the natural light. I like it. But my wife likes the color of my car now maroon. But I am a long long way from choosing a color. So she may change her mind.

If it weren?t for this forum I would have never seen that color and had the opportunity of getting a sample. Thanks for sending the paint stick with sample on it.

Here's a shot of the color with more light and a better camera. The color does get a lot of comments; all are positive in that vein that it makes the car look understatingly elegant.

The Holsman was manufactured by in Chicago from 1902 till 1909 or 1910. The Holsman was considered the grand-daddy of all high wheelers. For the seven or eight year period it was produced, production totaled 6,348 units. The engine in the Holsman was a 2 cylinder opposed engine with with a rope drive, that was 7/8 inch manila rope, but proved to be not very good in wet weather use. So to try and solve this problem Henry K Holsman and C.H. Bryan devised a chain braided over with manila and steel wire. After going out out of business Henry K Holsman moved to Piano Illinios and built another automobile called the Independent Harvester, which was in business from 1910 till 1911.

Rolls built the chassis ONLY before WW II. There is no such thing as a stock Rolls or Bentley body until sometime in the late 40's or early 50's. Yes, there were bodies built in runs by custom body builders, but none are considered stock. That body may very well be referred to as Continental, but I would think one of the British custom body building houses had to build it.

Snowpack ie John: Your last post made to Tbirdman is not in good taste. You probably know less about the Classic Packards and the other makes of automobiles that made up the GOLDEN CLASSIC ERA, than any other person in this forum.

Tbirdman - that is one hellava beautiful car. I consider all cars from 1932 to be the most beautiful cars ever. And you should change your name from Tbirdman to Packardman - or something like that! Maybe Pcardman? Anyway , Mr. Shireman - I normally don't defend someone for their statements - I usually let them fend for themselves ...... But I had to remark on your spleenventing about Snopack's remark about a used car lot. He obviously had tongue firmly in cheek when saying that. Trust me, lighten up a little, you'll live longer! Truly!!

Well maybe I will. However my domain is tbirdman.com. I got a domain because I was tired of changing my email all the time. Maybe I should have made it more general like carnut.com <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the compliment on the car.
