tommyzed
Hi there. I'm looking to find out if there is an overdrive manual transmission that will swap into a 1941 Super Deluxe Woody Wagon?
Rusty_OToole
They had a Columbia 2 speed rear axle, as an option. Where you could find one today is another question. There is also the new Mitchell overdrive for $3500, special order, 16 weeks to delivery. https://www.macsautoparts.com/mitchell-overdrive-kit-ford-32-65234-1.html Anything else, like a 5 speed trans, is a big problem because of the enclosed torque tube drive. hook
Lincoln up to 1948 had an overdrive transmission that would fit up to your engine. However, the overdrive transmission is longer and you would have to find a different rear axle assy. to fit. All in all, everything you need, Lincoln overdrive transmission, shorter rear axil assy., or a Columbia rear axle are all as plentiful as hens' teeth. The best solution is what Rusty_OToole suggested, a Mitchell overdrive.

Not really, maybe. If a floor shift is ok, a T5 is doable. The HAMB guys do it. Even a couple that make the needed adapters. Modifying the tube/axel no more work than doing so for the Mitchell, I would think.. Choices, choices! Ben
Rusty_OToole
Or the best, cheapest solution: drive slower and avoid busy hiways.
