FS 1968 Oldsmobile Toronado

Recommended Posts

This is a former show car owned by the same family since 1968. Automatic transmission, FWD, power steering/windows/brakes. The engine is an 8 cyl 455cid/375hp 4bbl rebuilt in the 1990's to add hardened valve seats and lower compression pistons. The car will run on 87 octane gas and does not need leaded or premium gas. Rare options for this car include bucket seats, a floor shifter, vinyl top, and automatic climate control. Two sets of tires are included: chrome wheels with radial tires for everyday driving and OEM bias ply tires for show. Air conditioning currently not working. Was recharged 10-15 years ago and worked for 2-3 years before R12 refrigerant leaked out. Original interior and vinyl top. Currently odometer reading 69917. More pics available. Asking $26,500

Buckets and console are super rare and very desirable.

I have heard the same.  The reason:  The front-wheel-drive

created a flat floor, allowing comfortable seating for 3 people

in one seat.  Putting a console in canceled that advantage,

so not many people ordered a console.

Especially combined with Standard interior. You see them more on Deluxe interior cars.

It's also unusual to see a Standard optioned out like this.
