Old buicks 2
Bird dog, for starters, I need to know whether you have an Autolite or Bosch system on the car. Autolite bought Bosch in the mid part of 1926 so some cars are Autolite and some where Bosch. Tom
Bird Dog
Hi Old Buicks 2. I believe it's Bosch, but I won't know for sure until the car arrives. According to Reliable Carriers, it should be picked up in the next ten days and then arrive here in 8-10 days thereafter. As soon as i can, I'll make sure which and then get back to you. I want to do a complete tune up and go over it thoroughly. Thanks and I'll contact you soon! Ed

Jon37
Congratulations on acquiring your Essex! In addition to seeking Essex technical advice and parts here on the AACA, you might want to list your needs on the Hudson Open Forum at https://openforum.hetclub.org/. You only need to give your e-mail address and devise a password, to use the Forum. It's run by the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club, which you might find worthwhile https://production.hetclub.org/ . Hans1
Just to be helpful. Give number from tag on Distributer. Essex distributor caps for cars prior to 1928 had physically larger diameter caps. In 1929 an Auto light distributer had a smaller diameter cap, right thru 1947.
