John_S_in_Penna
The opening bid is probably what the seller would accept as a minimum. If it goes for that price, it looks like a good buy for the money. It's always nice to see realistic expectations. This Cadillac should be a good car for a Cadillac fan.
deac
Looks like a pretty nice Caddy for the money (16,000) But I wonder if 2 or 4 doors really makes much difference in a Cadillac. These were luxury cars and most buyers would've probably preferred 4 doors. So if this one was a 2 door in the same condition would it really affect the price? I don't follow the market on Cadillacs. rocketraider
Well said. I'm at a point in life the number of doors or length of the roof makes no difference. Anybody notice this car has the remote control outside mirror? I think 56 was first year for that. It came up on an Oldsmobile forum a few weeks ago and someone with 50s parts books and sales brochures found it in the 56 Olds option list. Neat option, and IMO superior to the cable operated units that came later. And waaaaay superior to the current crop of electric operated mirrors that will invariably refuse to work when you need to adjust them!
TerryB
Not a common color for Cadillacs. In this kind of car a four door is normal for the buyer who wanted a step up car in the GM lineup in that era. My take on the green color is that the original owner was moving up from Buick or Oldsmobile but still wanted a family mover in a brighter color than black.
