Master Cylinder Rebuild?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to locate a working master cylinder for my TC (89 16V). I've exhausted what I could find and am needing help. The shop replaced the master cylinder with another one I had (it was working before the car was parked for a LONG time). The shop could use a rebuild kit (gaskets are shot on the one I had supplied). Does anyone have any ideas on what might be possible to get the car back on the road? Thanks for any help or direction

Do you know if anyone from here has any or someone that can stand behind what they send? The two I got from Ebay were faulty. I'm hesitant to keep throwing money that way without knowing if it will work but may end up having to do that. (I have to have a shop work on my cars because I know I wouldn't be able to fix it myself!) I will look at E-Bay again. Thanks!!

Hello Hemi Dude, It looks like the seal between the master cylinder and the accumulator assembly is blown (as best the mechanic and I could tell). We are going to try and get one possibly made that will fit that specific application. (We have three assemblies all together right now.) The seak seemed to work but when they took it out to test it wouldn't hold pressure and was squirting out from the master cylinder connection. If this does not fix the problem i will be in contact with you in a couple of weeks (I am going to be out of touch for a little bit.) Thanks to all for the information!!!!!
