Layden B
Can anyone ID the purpose of this pair of brackets? They appear to clamp to the rail of a pressed steel frame. May be for shock absorbers??? Yes they are for sale.
Nate Dort
What's the last number in the 192x date? Can't tell from the photo. Should be able to search by patent date.
Layden B
One says: B L PATENTED NOV 30 1920 and the other first line is : B R ( that even I could figure out being Left and Right !) Thanks for Help

drwatson
I could have missed these brackets in the patent search. There were 15k+ on 11/30/1920. Are we sure about the "0" in 1920? Are the 2 brackets identical? except for being L+R mirror opposites? The last photo shows what looks like a loose piece (??)
Layden B
Closer pictures. Yes these are exact mirror images of each other. The " loose piece" is clamped inside the frame rail by the bolt.
Nate Dort
We can probably assume that it's a US patent, and that the 11/30/1920 date is a publication (patent granted) date, rather than a filing date. That leaves about 782 results, according to this search: https://patents.google.com/?country=US&before=publication:19201130&after=publication:19201130
drwatson
Had to throw in towel after reviewing many 11/30/1920 Pat's. The items we're looking for might be part of a large/complex assembly and therefore hard to spot. https://ppubs.uspto.gov/pubwebapp/static/pages/ppubsbasic.html use "Basic Search" "Publication Date" date format "19201130"
