For Sale: 1923 Buick 23-Four-35, 5-passenger Touring -$13,500 - COATESVILLE, PA

1923 Buick 23-Four-35 Open Touring for sale by owner - Sadsburyville, PA - craigslist
Seller's Description:

This is a 1923 Buick five passenger touring car [Model 23-Four-35] with original paint and driveline in fully operating condition.  Quality car. This car cost as much as several Model Ts to buy new and you can tell where the money went when you drive this one after driving one of Ford's Model Ts from those years.
Here's some facts I looked up: Average cost of a new car in 1923 was $291. Buick 5 passenger touring car cost $1,190 [not 100% sure that price could be for the 6 cylinders, if so the 4 cylinder was a couple hundred less] [still allot more than average]. Average auction sale price of all 23 Buicks offered is $29,134 by one source, or 24,950 as Classic.com says average selling price of 23 Buick is. The 4 cylinder is a 170 cu in engine and puts out 35.5 HP.
I drive this car very regularly and have grown confident in its reliability.  Not much more to say here. Get in touch if interested. Will consider best in person cash offer.
Not into texts: Message me from this site with your name and number or CALL. [I don't always answer unknown callers, but I will try to remember I have listed this, so don't be too surprised if I do] Just leave a message if you get the recording, I'll call back when I get my messages. I'm just outside Coatesville Pa.  Do Not ask "is it available". Those I ignore. If it is still listed, it is available.

Unfortunately it is not a "Big Buick". It is a 109" WB car and is a bit LESS cramped than a compairable Chevrolet. It appears to have been restored/fixed up during the same period as my 1925 Master Touring. When Baby Blue, Yellow and Brown combos were popular. Along with stripped and varnished wood spoked wheels.

These 1923 model 35 cars as well as the model 45 big 6 were available only in BLACK. My 1925 model 45 was an early version with a late 1924 build. It was originaly a black car. Later production, when DUCO came to be used, the color was Cobalt Blue. The former owner did try a darker Cobalt Blue first but later decided to repaint it in the Baby/ Robins Egg Blue.

DSCF5686.JPG.0c56a45bd4d24d1f99766c3851918e64.JPG I hope to someday get it back to a Cobalt blue so I have started by doing the wheels.DSC01040.jpg.5a65100f1e44a8ea5ed8270a00d516ea.jpg

You rarely see these 4 cylinder Buicks.

True, our old 1914 Buick was a great runner, and the 6 cylinder Buick is even more of a "driver"
