Abbottgod
I have searched diagrams all over and still can not figure out the name of this piece. What is it's exact function and where might it be possible to find a replacement?
Larry Schramm
It is a vacuum port. The particular use would depend on the vehicle the carb is on.

Both the exact vehicle and the options on that particular vehicle, since vacuum ports would vary depending on power brakes, HVAC, or other vacuum-operated accessories. carbking
To further muddy the waters, this is NOT a carburetor part, even though it screws into the carburetor. I have spent hours looking for factory part numbers in master parts books, with zero results. Suggestion: If it is a showcar, find a used carburetor with a good fitting (possibly ebay). If it is a driver, take the fitting to your FLAPS. One can be assembled from 2 or 3 brass fittings. Jon
roysboystoys
Trim the bad portion with a small hacksaw or cut off wheel. Plenty of room left for hose with a clamp.
joe_padavano
It would help to know the specific application for that carb. The dual vacuum diaphragms suggest a mid-to-late 1970s GM product.
