Looks to be a '30s-'40s Period Auto Ashtray ... but for what make?

Nice old ashtray, sort of a cocoa-brown color. May be N.O.S. We like the clear knob, very stylish. It's available, but for now just curious what make it is from.

The handle design reminds me of an English Austin, it’s possibly from them.

 

The use of clear plastic on the design suggests it’s post WW2 and likely 1950’s as opposed to pre-war. Earlier plastic technology wasn’t as advanced but the war effort made huge leaps there.

 

So just a guess, but I think it’s 50’s Austin, but it’s just a guess.

Perhaps if you give us the size it may be able to determine what it is a bit easier is it 6 inches wide, 3 1/2, ???
