Kblake
Ran across a G.G. Vacuum Tank on a 1928 Buick. I don't think it is the stock vacuum tank, but an aftermarket addition. From what I've found on the web G.G. Vacuum Tanks were only used on Chevys 1923-26 on open cars only, but I'm unsure if that is actually correct. The owner took the Vacuum tank apart to clean it out and thinks she lost a needle from the bottom of the float. Anyone know these tanks enough to know if it is missing a needle? Are there replacement parts for these aftermarket tanks? Thanks, Kyle
Dave39MD
I have not had mine apart but maybe the picture might help. Dave
Mark Shaw
Kyle, I suggest you consider replacing it with the more common (original equipment) Stewart unit.
DFeeney
I believe you can buy a correct refurbished Stewart tank from one of the vendors who specializes in them. Look for them on line.
Kblake
This car is not mine, yet, working on making a purchase and agreeing on a price. But until it is mine I'm just helping the owner getting the car running again. If it was mine I would source the correct Stewart tank. Hopefully it will be mine soon and then I can toss this GG Tank and get a Stewart Tank.
DFeeney
When the time comes I would post your old tank looking for a buyer. Most old things sell. If nothing else it could become a wall hanger.
Dave39MD
My GG tank is great. Never any problems and the car starts fast after sitting way too long. I would probably pick it up as a spare when it comes time to sell. Dave
