RIP Ralph Braun

I just saw this posted to the OCA group on Facebook. Sorry to see another Oldsmobile icon pass. Those in the Olds community will know that Ralph was a long-running columnist in Journey With Olds and a Toronado aficionado.

So sorry to hear that. I have read his articles in JWO for many years and when I had a few Toronados and Eldorados back in the 80s. He will be missed.

Ugh, Ralph was a must read guy for so many years.  No one was any more passionate in the cars they loved than Ralph.  Very much the gentleman at all times.  An AACA member as well.  Beyond sad to be losing so many people who helped build our hobby.  Feels like  a gut punch.

Back in late 90s-early 00s Ralph and I had a dinner bet on how long it would take a newly elected OCA president's arrogance to make him crash and burn. Ralph won and enjoyed that meal I paid for!

 

And Ralph being Ralph, said it was a shame the guy's arrogance took him down. I didn't share that opinion! I was Fudd-ish about it- "good widdance to bad wubbish!"
