Fixupmy64
My 1964 rivieras amp light turns on and the voltage regulator buzzes. It’s inconsistent and it seems to want to work sometimes then the next minute act up. The voltage regulator is brand new, and I’ve replaced the wires and checked all the connections from alternator to the voltage regulator. The only thing that seems to affect the amp light and buzzing sound is if I mess with the wires going into my ignition… anyone els out there had similar issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated
tenugent
I don't know but if you post on the riviera forum I'm sure you'll get a answer
nickelroadster
That is probably trying to tell you you have a bad connection. Check everywhere and realize it could be internal corrosion in the wiring itself.

Rivguy
Check the firewall plug to see if it's loose, or remove it to check for corrosion. Check the wires that plug into the ignition switch, check the main and engine ground straps.
jframe
Had voltage regulator issues last month in my '65. Bought a '78 Camaro internal regulated alternator and an adapter harness to plug it up and a jumper plug for the external regulator wiring, and my problems went away. Got tired of chasing it.
