Really inspires confidence.Why a fellow with such negative feedback hasn't been banned is beyond my ken. Wonder if it's powered by a Briggs and Stratton or Tecumseh?

Hey Bob, I just noticed the all the negative feedbacks are by one "buyer", Isn't Kruse owned by ebay now? somethin' mighty peculiar goin' on here.

This is a really odd thing. According to my most recent issue of Auto Restorer, Kruse was sold back to the original owner and is no longer owned by eBay at all. This appears to me to be some sort of other person using the kruse name, maybe. Very odd, and very suspicious.

At least he's consistant with the feedbacks he leaves others, all 136 of them say "Very prompt and courteous buyer, great to deal with, Thanks!" It seems that eBay is less than consistant in thier enforcement of the rules. Another "love the product, hate the company" scenario like Harley.

My eBay story;

I just had my 5 year old account (fishbone) cancelled by eBay because of some moron who bought an electronic performance chip that wasn't for his truck, and even with the links, P/Ns, S/Ns and a large photo in the auction he couldn't figure it out. He gives me a neg and THEN asks for a refund within minutes! I refused as I have no way of knowing if his older Bronco damaged it or not and the fact of the immediate neg after I gave him a positive. He said my auction was misleading and filed fraud charges with eBay. They unregestered me until I refund his money without any questions asked. They said "as a seller, you need t be more informative" Can you believe that BS? EVERY piece of info available was listed including the manufacture's website! What more do they think I could have done? He is a Power seller named "Muddles", so beware of him. I walked away from that account rather than give in. I had a new account within minutes anyway. flipa.gif

Notice that this auction i snot your typical Ebay on line auction.

It's a link to some sort of live auction. Whole different set of rules and procedures! Not real sure of the Kruse Connection is this. It may be a Kruse Auction being advertised on Ebay. The auction is connected to a Cashion Collection.

I contacted the Kruse folks, yes they now have bought back their company from Ebay, and asked them to respond to the thread. Hopefully, they will answer your questions Peter and also respond to the negative feedback. After looking at the items in question, I doubt that they were bought from the Kruse company we all know.

Just went back to the site and viewed the catalogue for the Cashion Collection. Some pretty neat stuff and a few rare cars. You Ford lovers should really check this out. Anyone know this collection well? There is a car I am interested in...I will pass on the cowbells!

I answered some of this in a separate email reply to Peter but thought some of you might find it interesting. In 1991 (the year I was AACA President) I was contacted by Mel Moffitt and John Parks, Peoria, IL. They had organized the American Automobile Centennial Inc. to be the "Official U.S. organization formed to celebrate 100 years of AMERICAN automotive history". The celebration was to be in 1993, the 100th year of the first Duryea. Along with their plans for a variety of activities they announced that they intended to build their 1893 replica (and drive it on the 1993 Great American Race. They also announced that they would be building a bunch of these cars for sale.

There followed a series of discussions among our AACA Board Members, some noted historians, and other clubs. There were two problems - the first was that we felt the AACI would try to control our activities and there was a possibility of litigation if we did not support them. The second, and most crucial factor is that we all believed that 1996, the 100th anniversary of the first production Duryeas, was the most appropriate year for celebration of the automotive industry. I never heard anything from them after informing them of our decision and was not aware that they continued their project to build multiple replicas. I seriously doubt if they built 100, but apparently they built at least four.

The collection is only about 80 or 90 miles from my home, so will try to check it out for Peter. I will probably also attend the auction and will report more later. By the way, Peter, I did find my file and will send you some copies of what I have.
