PhillyFordGuy
I'm looking for a proven, reliable transporter to haul my vehicle to the Grand Nationals in May. Pickup would be in SE PA. Please send any leads my way. Alternatively, I already have a reputable transporter lined up but he needs one other player to commit before he will agree to make the trip. If you're in similar need, let me know. Thanks.

If you're in similar need, let me know. Thanks. I had a very good experience with Garrett Poe from Poe Transport who transported my pre-war vehicle from No VA to Pinehurst, NC in Nov. He was very professional, took extra care loading and unloading and communicated very well prior to arrival for pick up and while en route. He has both covered and uncovered options. He is one of the go to options used by Classic Auto Mall in PA who made the recommendation to me. Good luck!

MochetVelo
You can also try the big transporters like Horseless Carriage, Reliable, Intercity, and Passport. They often go to the big events and sometimes offer good rates. Phil

My past experience, in getting quotes, is that the big-name carriers are most efficient on long cross-country routes, or half-way across the country--especially east-to-west, since their routes are based on the Atlantic to the Pacific and back. They aren't even close to being competitive on short routes of one or two states away. A smaller transporter, with a one- or two-car trailer, may be best going from Penna. to Virginia.
John_S_in_Penna
I recently bought a car and talked to Bill's Auto Works, who wrote to you above. He was unable to do it, but he gave me references. I chose one of his references who was close to the area, and that transporter, with a one-car enclosed trailer, did a fine and conscientious job. So this is a recommendation of Bill and his referrals. 1

On recommendation from Bill, I just booked with Dave Phelps (@Rusty_Tinman) and am very grateful. 2

Thank you gentlemen, this ^^ is were the real value of online/web forum recommendations lay. Way too often people ask recommendations for various services in forums like this, but neglect to provide feedback (good or bad) on those which they received and follow up on.
