Un-Finished Aluminum Castings

These two castings came in a box of un-finished castings. All the other parts have been identified but we have no idea what these would be used for. May not be automotive.

Alot of work went into making these and they are very high quality so hate to scrap them.

My guess is that they are the shifting dogs for an early transmission.

What did the other castings you mentioned fit?

Never would have thought about a shifting dog. Do you have an example of one that looks similar?

Other castings were for a later Stutz and I can identify them, these I can not.

My guess would be a mounting bracket for a generator or some other accessory on an engine.

Referencing the bottom pix: 

I would speculate the mid three bosses would be drilled for a through shaft. The two upper bosses would be drilled for either a through shaft, or more likely,  bolts. The two bottom flanges drilled for four bolt holes.
